November 21, 1956. PAGE 15 William Penn BRANCH 15-V — CHICAGO, — SENTINEL i By: Ernest C. Taylor, Dist. Mgr. By the time most of our readers look' over this article, we will have had a good old fashioned Hungarian pork dinner in honor of our very good fratemalist, Frank Balogh. The Board of Directors granted to him the ILLUSTRIOUS CITATION, highest award that can be given by our society to one of its members. Congratulations to Mr. Balogh, also hearty thanks for all the years of faithful service that he has rendered to our society. By the grape vine it comes to me that Andrew (Banna Ball) Janovics and his fine family are quartered in their new apartment, as Andy has taken a new set of buildings to handle on the north side. Lots of luck to Andy. To those of our friends who have not yet heard the latest, Louis Puskarits and his son Bob are now operating a tavern that they purchased, which is located on Irving Park Road near Bernard Avenue, about 3450 West. We wish them success in their new venture. On the sick list this month we have Joseph Sebestin and Mrs. Charles Evon. Speedy recovery to you. With sorrow I report that John Kolovits passed away this month, and Mrs. Vargo, the mother of Joseph Vargo. Our condolences to the families. By now you have all heard and read about the uprising in Hungary. To those good Hungarians, and all other nationalities living in Hungary, we sincerely wish that God gives them the power to throw off the yoke of Communism. All of us that have any feeling for the home land of our forefathers, and many of us with relatives there, I am making this appeal for contributions to be forwarded to the American Hungarian Federation, Mills Building, Washington D. C. Contributions also are being taken by the EMERGENCY AID FOR HUNGARY, c.o Mrs. John Sinko, 1139 N. Oak Park Ave., Oak Park. Illinois. Any of you who wish may send your contributions to me, at 4000 W. NORTH AVENUE, ROOM 329, but please make your checks or money orders payable to the aforementioned organizations. Any contributions that are sent in will be publicly accounted for in the “Hungarian Weekly”, “Chicago és Környéke”. The money will be spent for medicines, blood plasma, clothing and relief for the war-ravaged peoples of Hungary. This appeal is also to any one of any nationality believing in freedom for all peoples. Please do everything possible. Send as much as you possibly can for this wonderful cause. OPPS DEPARTMENT: — Paul Dudás and his good looking wife Irene are going to move into their new home in Leyden Township. Irene Stults is back in our midst. As I understand, her husband will be getting his discharge soon from the Army. This bit of news has just arrived: I understand there is talk to the effect that whatever profits will accrue from the PORK DINNER will be turned over to the Fund to help1 the destitute Peoples of Hungary in their great cause. PLEASE DO NOT FORGET THAT ON NEW YEAR’S EVE WE ARE: GOING TO HAVE A PARTY" WHICH WILL BE ON A RESERVATION BASIS. IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND THE FIRST NEW YEAR’S EVE PARTY BY BRANCH 15-V, PLEASE MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS SOON, BECAUSE THERE WILL ONLY BE A DEFINITE NUMBER OF PLACES.
