He was for many years the faithful Vice President of Branch 23-V, Pocahontas, Virginia, as well as Sick Visitor for more than twenty-five years. The Board of Directors, in paying final tribute to the memory of our Illustrious Member, conveys on behalf of the membership of the William Penn Fraternal Association its deepest sympathy to the bereaved family. Mr. Lou Tokár, our district ma­nager, was in the White Cross Hos­pital the past month for an opera­tion. He is home now and doing well. We wish him the best of luck and speedy recovery. * * # The men bowlers finally had their banquet for the season just finished and an exceedingly good time was had by all. New officers were elected for the coming bowling season. Trophies were awarded to the championship team. A special plaque was awarded to A1 Malherbe for good sportsmanship. The plaque was awarded by the members of the league. A touch of comedy was added to the affair when a booby prize was awarded to the last place team. The inscription read as follows: “You may be last but you’re not forgot­ten.” The newly elected officers are as follows: A1 Malherbe, president; Frank Guyer, vice president; William Franklin, secretary and treasurer. Again, I am sorry that this Au­gust column is too brief, but illness has made it impossible for me to contact members of the organization.
