Focus on Fraternalism with Barbara A. House Thank you, thank you, thank you Our Hungarian Heritage Experience was the best ever. Everyone said they could feel the enthusiasm. This group truly wanted to learn, and learn they did. Thank you to Loretta Nemeth for the great story in last month's William Penn Life and to John Lovász and Dolores Soltes for the great pictures. Thank you, Ursula, for all of the great food. Thank you, Tamás and Emery, for the great classes. Thank you, Jim Robertson, for being in the kitchen from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thank you, Dave Kozak, for all the running around and shopping. Thank you, Alexis Kozak and Charlotte Sipos, for the csiga class. One student said that it was the first time she "chewed her soup." Yes, the csiga was not perfect, but it was no fault of Alexis and Charlotte, because they sure tried. Alexis also led a session on how to make palacsinta. Thank you, Linda Enyedy and Nancy Martinsen, for the egg painting and card making classes. Everyone had a great time. Thank you, Loretta and Jenifer Nemeth for the mézeskalács decorating class. Due to the high humidity at camp, they really did not dry, but they sure got eaten. Thank you, Linda, for the dance classes. Thank you, Joyce and Harry Nicholson for the celebratory libations. If I missed someone, please forgive me; your efforts were appreciated and made this Experience the best ever. Toledo's Birmingham Ethnic Festival was another success, but very hot. WPA Vice Chair Kathy Novak came from Youngstown, along with Sándor Tollas and niece Chrissy Kobasic. Bob Bisceglia, National Sales Director, brought all the goodies from the Home Office. Alan Szabó, sales representative, even filled a few bags. Thank you to all who helped. Kathy called the day "a blast from the past." We saw many old friends. Thank you to all who helped with the WPA Picnic. This is the first time we had sufficient help. Thank you, HCC of Northeastern Ohio for all your hard work and camaraderie. Thank you to all the Directors, Officers, Home Office employees and their family members, and William Penn members, for all that you did. Thank you, George Bátyi and ensemble for the beautiful music. Thank you, Judit Ganchuk for your wonderful dance group. Special thanks to Branch 18 who traveled four hours on a bus then worked very hard all day. Thank you to the Home Office for all your support. We need as many of these events as possible to keep our heritage alive. As you read this, I am traveling with the WPA Tour 2018.1 cannot wait to share details and Richard Sarosi's photos of our adventures! □ 1- n 1 *' I ■ | f é l m TJilLU TOLEDO - WPA was well represented at the Birmingham Ethnic Festival held Aug. 19. Several events, including the Waiters' Race, were held the day before, but the official opening of the Festival was on Sunday at St. Stephen’s Church (pictured above, left). Along the Festival mail, many guests visited the WPA tent, where they were given WPA tote bags and warm fraternal greetings by Fraternal Director Barbara A. House, sales representative Alan Szabó and National Sales Director Bob Bisceglia (pictured above, right), as well as Vice Chair Kathy Novak and members Tom House, Sándor Tollas ]r. and Chrissy Kobasic.
