Puzzle Contest #140 with Lizzy Cseh-Hadzinsky r Touring Hungary with WPA in 2017 For decades, WPA has sponsored tours to Hungary. My parents joined one of these wonderful excursions a few years back as did my great Aunt Gena in the early 1970s. Their memories of those trips are countless and have left a lasting impression. What helps make a WPA Hungary Tour so enchanting is that the participants are mostly Hungarian-Americans who share a love for the culture, history and lifestyle of Hungary. This year, the excitement of the WPA Tour is reflected in its theme: “Rediscovering Our Roots.” The tour begins on Sept 6 and runs for 16 days. For $2,030 per person (based on double occupancy), you get all hotel accommodations, breakfast and one additional meal daily, all ground transportation in Europe and admission to many attractions. Airfare from Detroit to Budapest is available at an additional cost of $ 1,400 per person. If you have relatives in Magyarország and would like to visit them before or after the tour, arrangements can be made for you. Once again, master guide Andrea Tordai will be leading tour members throughout the trip. Luxurious hotels, exquisite Hungarian food, and even genuine gypsy folk music will all be part of this dream vacation. You’ll travel to Budapest, Gödöllő, Eger, Mezőkövesd, the Magyar Plains and Debrecen. Experience the grandeur of the Basilica of Saint Stephen in Budapest, visit an equestrian park, explore Gödöllő and taste the richly flavored paprika kolbász in Debrecen. The experiences you can have by being part of this tour are countless. Openings are still available. But hurry: the deadline for placing your reservations is April 24. If you have questions about the tour, call WPA at I-800-848-7366 and connect to either Fraternal Director Barbara House (ext 107) or Judit Ganchuk (ext 149). Or, email Judit at jganchuk@wpalife.org. The February 2017 wordsearch puzzle contains 15 clues. Each pertains to the “Rediscovering Our Roots” tour to Hungary. Clues include the places, people, food and things to do while being immersed in our Magyar heritage. Good luck to each of you, and Boldog Valentin Napot! (Happy Valentine’s Day!)
