We wish all Branch 800 members a holy, healthy and happy 2017. Branch 8036 Scottdale, PA by Jerry A. Hauser Branch 8036 held its annual Christmas Dinner at the Darlington Inn in Ligonier, Pa. Members and guests enjoyed a delicious Hungarian buffet prepared by Elizabeth and László Kastal. Both are branch officers and do a superb job in hosting our events. The entrees and desserts were delicious! Prior to dinner, a brief meeting was held recapping branch activities held during the year. The branch provided financial support to WPFA Scholarship Foundation via sponsorships at WPA's bowling and golf tournaments and the WPA Picnic. The branch also participated in the Holiday Baskets Program with donations to several needy families in the local area and to the Union Mission of Latrobe, which helps homeless men get back on their feet. It was mentioned that four branch members received WPA scholarships in furthering their education. Our members agreed to make a donation to the Scott Bashioum Children's Memorial Fund in memory of the fallen Canonsburg police officer killed in the line of duty. The meeting concluded with the election of branch officers along with expressing thanks to the WPA Home Office for offering fraternal programs in helping those in need.
