I will be in Michigan for the Hungarian Arts Club Fehér Rózsa Bál in early February. You don't know how anxious I am to see all of you. I will tell you all about the ball in a future branch report. The entire WPA Board of Directors will be here for this lovely event. All of our new National Directors are in for a treat. This is always a wonderful event. Thank you, WPA, for always being wonderful and generous supporters. My thought for the month: You are rich beyond measure. Life brings us a constant stream of blessings, possibilities and opportunities. Every sunrise brings us a precious new day. The best things in life are still free. Abbie is happy in Florida...most of the time. We have a new daycare for her, Preppy Pets. Unfortunately, she has been laid up for a couple weeks since she was spayed. But, she is coming along and growing by leaps and bounds. If you have never owned a standard poodle, let me tell you, leaps and bounds truly describe her movements. Hello to Amalia Horvath. It was so nice to hear from you. Special thanks, again, go to my very good friends, Kathy and Les Megyeri. Where do you find these wonderful treasures? 1 loved them. Have a wonderful winter. I can always be reached at 734- 782-4667 or 313-418-5572. Please call me with questions, your insurance needs or if you have news to share. Branch 19 New Brunswick ,NJ by Evelyn Bodnar Branch 19 helped sponsor a free Thanksgiving dinner held at the Bayard Street Presbyterian Church on Thanksgiving day. The volunteers served up 225 turkey dinners to local families and the homeless. In addition, the Branch gave two Holiday Baskets to needy individuals. All of the officers attended and helped during the event. The event also included a coat give away. The last Saturday of each month, the church gives away food and clothing. At the end of January, it will provide more than 200 coats to the homeless and needy families. The church will also open on Wednesday mornings for several hours to allow the homeless an opportunity to stay warm, watch videos and have coffee and snacks. On Dec. 13 the Branch celebrated Christmas for members with a visit from Santa, gifts and good food. The branch also donated $300 toward the playground renovations at the Jerry Davis Center for Children & Families at the Arc of Somerset County, an early childhood center specializing in therapeutic services and educating children with disabilities. Volunteers will assist in the building in the spring. Happy New Year to all of our members! Branch 28 Youngstown, OH by Kathy Novak Happy Valentine's Day! We hope everyone has been as lucky with the winter weather as the members in Youngstown have been so far. Once again, the officers of Branch 28 thank everyone who supported the holiday scholarship raffle and made it a success. Your support will allow us to make a generous donation to the WPFA Scholarship Foundation. During the holiday season, Brandon Palomaki was one of the actors in a holiday production at the Victorian Playhouse in the Youngstown area. Do we see a star in the making? Congratulations to Barbara House on her appointment as Fraternal Director. It's an area she is familiar with as she has helped organize such great fraternal events in the past. Best of luck always! Thank you, again, to the Home Office for allowing WPA branches to assist worthy organizations and recipients through the Holiday Baskets program and other financial aid during the Christmas season.
