Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Office of the Governor Harrisburg THE GOVERNOR GREETINGS: It gives me great pleasure to join with the Board of Directors and National Officers of the William Penn Association (WPA) to welcome everyone gathered for the 38* WPA General Convention. From its humble beginnings serving thirteen coal miners in Hazleton, the William Penn Association has grown to become one of the most prominent Hungarian fraternal organizations in the nation. For more than 120 years, WPA has remained dedicated to serving the personal and financial needs of its members, providing life insurance, scholarships, and assistance in times of great need. I commend the members of this organization for their proud commitment to preserving their Hungarian heritage. It is my hope that the William Penn .Association w ill continue to thrive in the years to come. As Governor, and on behalf of all the citizens of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, I am honored to welcome the members of the William Penn Association to the 38* WPA General Convention.
