Branch News Branch 51 Passaic, NJ by Marian Rubin I was fortunate to serve as a delegate to the 38th General Convention. The sessions were informative, and the Convention was well organized. My husband and I enjoyed meeting all the other WPA members. Congratulations to all of the mem­bers of the Board of Directors and National Officers who were elected during the Convention. And best wishes and much thanks to Barbara House for her years of service to WPA. Please join us for the annual branch Christmas Party to be held Sunday, Dec. 6, at 2:00 p.m. at the American Hungarian Club in Garfield, NJ. There will be entertain­ment and refreshments. A visit from Santa Claus is expected, and there will be gifts for the children. Please mark your calendars and plan to join us for the afternoon. We wish everyone a happy and healthy Thanksgiving. This is a time for us to give thanks for our family and friends and for all the blessings that God has given to us. Branch 129 Columbus, OH by Debbie Lewis Well, here it is, November, and we have been getting the cooler weather of fall. The leaves are changing col­ors and starting to fall off the trees. Hope all enjoy this time before the winter weather is here. Congratulations to WPA on a very successful 38th General Con­vention. Special thanks to all the National Officers, Board of Directors and Home Office employees who worked so hard to make it a won­derful event. The delegates attend­ing the convention from our branch were Marge Boso, Margaret Leon­ardo, Diane Walker and me. Also in attendance in the visitors' gallery was branch member Art Bartfay. This was truly a great experience. It was nice to see old friends and make new ones. Congratulations to the returning National Officers and the returning Congratulations to Branch 226 member Julia Myers and her husband Dylan Shipton who were married in September. and new members of the Board of Directors. It is a great honor to be elected to the new Board. I want to thank everyone who has supported me. 1 am looking forward to this new venture with WPA. Among the holidays for this month is Veterans Day on the 11th, which honors all the men and women who have served in the U.S. armed forces. Special thanks to all our members who have served or are still serving. Then comes Thanksgiving Day on the 26th. This is a day to give thanks for all of the blessings that God has given us in our lives. Special thanks to all members and their families. The Hungarian Cultural Associa­tion will have a booth at the Colum­bus International Festival, held in the Celeste Center at the Ohio State Expo Center. It will be held on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and on Sunday, Nov. 8, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Hungar­ian Village shirts and other items will be on sale. Our next branch meeting will be held Tuesday, Nov. 24, at 4:30 p.m. at the Hungarian Reformed Church, located at 365 Woodrow Ave., Co­lumbus. Please plan on attending. We will be discussing the Christmas party and plans for next year. Mark your calendars for our annual Christmas party to be held on Saturday, Dec. 5, at 2:00 p.m. at the Columbus-Grove City Elks. We will be mailing out information this month. Hope to see you there. We congratulate all those cele­brating birthdays, anniversaries and additions to their families. We also extend our sympathy to all who have recently lost a loved one, especially the family of fellow member the Rev. István Nyeste who served as minister of the Hungarian Reformed Church for many years. Branch 226 McKeesport, PA by Judit Ganchuk This month, we remember a solemn holiday, Veterans Day, where we salute the brave men and women who served in our nation's armed forces in previous wars. Please keep our military personnel, both here and abroad, in your thoughts and prayers. Happy birthday wishes go to all our members celebrating their special day in November. Also, happy wedding anniversary to all those happy couples celebrating this month. We want to share some good news with all of you. Congrats go out to branch member Julia Myers and Dylan Shipton on getting mar­ried this September. May God bless you and keep you. We're proud of all of this year's new WPA scholarship recipients, but we are particularly proud of one of them—Branch 226 member Kelsey A. Benedek. Way to go, Kelsey!
