It was truly amazing! We cannot express how wonderful it was to visit Kisszőlős, meet the mayor and visit the church my great-grandparents and grandparents were from. There were many relatives in the cemetery. Then it was on to Pápa where we saw another church and a large Vathy family crypt. Also, to meet relatives in Budapest was so special—Zsusza Vathy a published writer, her daughter Fruzsina who also writes, and her sister and husband. All the different areas of Hungary were beautiful. A special thanks to Andrea Tordai who also made so much possible. We hope to attend the language camp. We miss the country and everyone! Gus & Mary Ann Morreale Branch 590 Cape Coral, FL Thanks to all for a wonderful trip A NOTE TO THANK WPA for arranging a trip to Hungary filled every day with many historical sites to visit and appreciate, wine tastings from several regions, gastronomical delights and tasting adventures, churches of beauty and reverence, a countryside of rolling hills, rows of grapes, roads lined with chestnut trees, and a lake resort that can restore your health and heal your heart and mind. All this plus connecting you with your Hungarian heritage. One important person who made this all possible was our local guide, Andrea Tordai. I believe the success of this trip was due to her love of her country and its history. Her easygoing personality connected her with each person on the trip, making it seem as if it was only your trip and no one else's. If ever I have the opportunity to visit Hungary again, I would like to arrange my personal trip through her. Thank you, Andrea, for a wonderful trip. Also, a note of thanks to our bus driver, Krisztián. His safe driving got us up and down winding village streets, through busy city traffic and across dark country roads at night. Thanks, Krisztián! Veronica D. Garry Branch 8 Johnstown, PA P.S. Can't say enough about Andrea's help, along with the stateside work done by Hadas Rudy of Discover Africa travel agency. She got us home during the Air France airline strike. A remarkable task. Thanks to all of you! Puzzle winner shares her good fortune I WAS GREATLY surprised when I received my check for $50 for playing the August 2014 puzzle. I am a member of Branch 28 Youngstown and expecting to see my 93rd birthday on Dec. 9, Lord willing. Working the puzzle helps keep me active. So, I would like to donate $25 to the Scholarship Foundation to help our children fulfill their goals. Thelma J. Nemeth Branch 28 Youngstown, OH Thank you, Thelma, for your generosity, and may we wish you a Happy 93rd Birthday! Family moved to see father’s story in print I WAS AT my father-in-law's house, preparing potatoes and setting the dinner table, when my husband comes in with the William Penn magazine (October 2014 issue) in his hand. He opens it to "The Story of Pista." What a surprise. The photos look wonderful and beautifully placed within the story. After dinner, we showed Steve. He didn't understand at first why his picture was in the magazine. Then he began to realize it was his story. I think he was really moved. He kept picking up the magazine, then setting it down again. He said he was going to read it in the evening, after we left. Thank you again for letting us share our story.
