Are your beneficiaries up to date? That’s a question you may not have asked yourself very often, if ever. But, it’s one you should ask yourself at least once a year. We can’t stress enough the importance of regularly checking the beneficiaries listed on your life insurance certificates. It is the only way to ensure that the people you want to receive the benefits of your life insurance are the ones who will receive it. Think about the changes that have occurred in your life since you purchased your life insurance. Getting married, having children, losing a loved one, getting remarried-all these life changes affect your responsibilities. In some states, divorce may make your beneficiaries null and void. Do the beneficiaries currently listed on your life insurance certificates reflect such changes? If you think you need to update the beneficiaries listed on your certificates-either primary or secondary beneficiaries-contact your WPA representative. Or, call our Home Office toll-free at 1-800-848-7366. Branch News verhovay.com. Our meetings are held on the third Monday of every month at 6:30 p.m. at the Verhovay Home Association on 29th Street in Harrisburg. We would love to see all the active members attend. Congratulations to everyone celebrating anniversaries and birthdays in June. If you have any news that you would like to have in our branch articles, please contact me, Barbara Kreiser, at 717-418-3369 or email at bjudy54@yahoo.com. McKinsey Summer is finally here! Officially, summer starts June 21. I am writing this article right before our May 17 Tri-State Picnic, which is being held at Scenic View. If you have never attended this picnic, it is a great day of chatting with old friends and meeting new ones. Please try to attend next year if you get a chance. This month, we celebrate two special holidays. Flag Day is June 14, a day on which we commemorate the adoption of the flag of the United States. President Woodrow Wilson officially established June 14 as Flag Day in 1949. Father's Day is June 15. Happy Father's Day to all of those dads out there. May you lead your families with wisdom and grace. The school year is ending, so there will be many young ones playing outside. Please drive carefully. Remember, the 31st Annual WPA Golf Tournament & Scholarship Days is coming July 18 and 19 at Quicksilver Golf Club in Midway, Pa. Please try to attend as many fraternal events as possible. Only with your support can WPA continue to provide activities for you to enjoy. Happy birthday to all those celebrating a birthday this month. May you be blessed with many more. Our condolences to all those who have lost a loved one recently. May your memories carry you through this very difficult time. If you have any insurance needs or questions, please contact me at 412-319-7116 or by email at dmckinsey@hotmail.com. Branch 800 Altoona, PA by Dave Greiner Summer officially starts this month. We hope all members enjoy the warm weather and spend quality time with their families. Our area schools are now recessed for the summer. Branch 800 hopes all students enjoy the summer relaxing with family and friends. Good luck to all who graduated. June 14 is Flag Day. Let's all raise our country's flag and show our patriotism. June 15 is Father's Day. We hope all fathers enjoy this special day of honor spending time with family. Branch 800 extends happy birthday wishes to Branch Vice President Dan Greiner, celebrating June 10. Our branch wishes all golfers, young and old, good luck as they prepare for the 31st Annual WPA Golf Tournament & Scholarship Days July 18 and 19. I hope all members were able to read the article in the May William Penn Life remembering Cardinal Mindszenty. His life was dedicated to battling against Russian domination of Hungary and Communism. This religious leader's life impacted our history forever. A small remembrance is well deserved. As summer moves on, please mark your calendars for a couple of special picnics. Branch 800's summer picnic will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 6, at Highland Park in Altoona. And the WPA Picnic-A Great Fraternal Fest will be Sept. 6, at Scenic View, Rockwood, Pa. We hope all members attend Altoona Curve games and show support for our AA affiliate of the Pirates. We also will continue to support the Buccos. Don't forget to contact Bob Jones for all your insurance and annuity needs at 814-942-2661. 26 0 June 2014 0 William Penn Life
