Puzzle Contest #97 with Lizzy Cseh______________________ r___ — ____ — — — -i Hungarian Cultural Garden at 7*> Along the winding and picturesque MLK Boulevard in Cleveland, there sits an oasis of botanical splendor devoted to the Magyar spirit.. The Hungarian Cultural Garden of Cleveland, Ohio, is a multi-level park featuring beautifully manicured pathways surrounded by a vast display of colorful flora, much of which is native to Hungary. With convenient and easy access from East Boulevard, the Garden offers visitors an enlightening tour about such renowned Hungarians as Bartók, Ady or Madach, to name just a few. An ornately-crafted wrought iron kapu (gate) greets guests as they enter from the upper area. Fountains with reflecting pools, interspersed with numerous statues and plaques, are strategically placed throughout this focal point of Magyar spirit. Officially dedicated in 1938, the Hungarian Garden will celebrate its 75th year with a special commemorative program on Saturday, July 20. You are cordially invited to spend a leisurely afternoon enjoying a vast array of entertainment. Listen to the music of Liszt being played by a renowned musician utilizing a full-sized concert grand piano. Be entertained by lavishly costumed Magyar dancers. As one enters the palatial pool area, an accomplished cimbalom player will greet you by playing seldom heard folksongs. The group Harmonia will also perform. Spend an afternoon of summertime pleasure with a leisurely stroll around the meticulously manicured grounds. Bring along a portable chair. Let the show come to you. Plenty of treats and cool refreshments will be available for your enjoyment. Be part of a once in a lifetime experience of Magyar fellowship. I have visited the Garden several times. My short description of this centerpiece of American-Hungarian collaboration does not do it justice.
