Moneywise with Jeff DeSantes Moving forward in 2012 A review of two of our permanent life insurance contracts NOW THAT WE are in the New Year, I would like to take the next several months highlighting a few of our permanent and term life insurance contracts. This month, we begin with a review our Life Paid Up At Age 65 and our Almost Guaranteed Issue Plans. LIFE PAID UP AT AGE 65 PLAN This an excellent way to maintain a lifetime of insurance protection for you and your loved ones while paying premiums only during your income-earning years. Premiums are payable to age 65, or until the death of the insured, if earlier. The issue ages for the Life Paid up at Age 65 plan are 0 to 60. The minimum issue amount for ages 0 to 54 is $5,000 and the minimum for ages 55 to 66 is $2,000. This plan can be suited to your financial needs, both present and future. You select the schedule of premiums payments which is most beneficial for you (annual, semi-annual, quarterly or monthly). Plus, this plan has a competitive cash value growth that can possibly be an important source of income later on. This plan also offers a banded premium which means that the more insurance you buy, the lower your premium rate per $1,000 of insurance. You also have the flexibility to add the Waiver of Premium Benefit and the Accidental Death Benefit to this plan. ALMOST GUARANTEED ISSUE SPECIAL PLAN This plan offers you the greatest amount of insurance protection for the lowest premium. It was developed for people ages 21 to 55 with attractive discounted premium rates and a choice of using the Ordinary Life or Life Paid Up at Age 65 insurance plans. The issue ages for the Ordinary Life plan are 21 to 55. The issue ages for the Life Paid Up at Age 65 plan are 21 to 45. Only one Almost Guaranteed Issue Life Paid Up at Age 65 plan is allowed per member. This plan is sold with banded face amounts of insurance of $10,000; $15,000; $20,000; and $25,000 with 10 year age groupings to the nearest birthday. This plan can be issued at standard rates up to a Table 4 rating using a regular life application.
