Branch News Santa welcomes members to Branch 352's annual family Christmas party held Nov. 20. Branch 249 Dayton, OH by Mark Schmidt Where has the year gone? It seemed like just a few weeks ago the 37th General Convention was held over the Labor Day weekend, and what a successful convention it was. The business sessions were very informative, and the WPA 125th Anniversary Gala on Saturday night was a joy to attend with delicious food, wonderful music and friends. The celebration of the country's only Hungarian fraternal organization was truly memorable. We are truly blessed in these times to have such a wonderful resource of friends and heritage to sustain us. We need to thank all the delegates, officers and employees who worked so hard to make the Convention a success. Also, congratulations are in order for the newly elected Board of Directors and re-appointed National Officers. Representing Dayton Branch 249 were National Director Anne Marie Schmidt, Alternate Director Michele Daley-La Flame and Annie Kertesz, who was honored as an Illustrious Member for her many years of service to WPA and Branch 249. Her countless years of commitment and dedication are greatly appreciated. I hope all had a Happy Thanksgiving with friends and family. It is truly a good time to be thankful for all the blessings the good Lord has given us. Good health to all that have been ill or hospitalized. Here is hoping for a speedy recovery. The anticipation of Christmas morning is almost too much to bear for the children (and some adults as well). May you all have a very Merry and Blessed Christmas. I hope we all remember the real reason for the season—the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Let us not forget that the holiday season is especially difficult for those who have lost a loved one. It might brighten their day if you remember to write them a short note letting them know you are thinking of them. The Branch 352 Christmas party was held on Nov. 20. Everyone had a great time bowling. The food was, 20 0 December 2011 ° William Penn Life
