Holiday Greetings from the Chair

Wow, wasn't this a wonderful, eventful and busy year?

I want to thank our National Officers, employees, new Board of Directors and you, our wonderful William Penn members, for helping to make our 125th year so very memorable. Thank you to all who participated in and supported all our many events.

We had many Join Hands Day events, the Tri-State Picnic, the Annual Golf Tournament and Scholarship Days, the Hungarian Heritage Experience, our wonderful 125th Anniversary Gala (made more special by the Rajkó Ensemble from Hungary), our 37th General Convention and the WPA Picnic-A Great Fraternal Fest. Then, many of our members packed their bags and visited Hungary for a delightful two weeks. We are ending the year with many branch Christmas parties.

My branch—Branch 18 Lincoln Park, Mich.—reached out this year to our neighbors at Branch 27 Toledo, Ohio, and invited them to our branch Christmas party. I hope many of you open your branches to each other in a similar way. That is an excellent way to meet and get to know your fellow members.

Many of the events I mentioned will be offered again in 2012. Plus, we are reinstituting our Annual Bowling Tournament in May. Watch your William Penn Life for news and information on this and all our events.

In the coming year, William Penn Association's Official Family plans to spend more time with each of our Branches. We will be available to help you build strong branches that will last another 125 years.

The road to mediocrity is paved with good intentions. Be a doer. Help your branch. Attend branch meetings. Make your voice heard; offer suggestions. It is your branch. The next 125 years are in your hands. It's up to you.

It is with great joy and thanksgiving to God that I wish you a wonderful holiday season. May you spend it with all those you love.
