Varga for his appointment as chairman of the Hungarian American Coalition; to Richard W. Toth, national vicepresident-secretary, for being named Fratemalist of the Year by the Fraternal Societies of Greater Pittsburgh; and to Barbara A. House, WPA vice chairman of the Board, for being honored by the Hungarian Arts Club as the guest of honor at the Annual White Rose Ball in Dearborn, Mich. We are so proud of their commitment to the Hungarian community and of their outstanding representation of the William Penn Association. We extend a special thank you to Branch Coordinator/President Michele Daley-LaFlame and all the officers and members of Branch 249 who contributed to another successful Christmas party. Attendance was great. It was enjoyable socializing with one another and especially enjoyable watching the children as they anxiously awaited the arrival of Santa Claus. There are several upcoming events in March, so mark your calendars. The Magyar Club of Dayton will hold its next meeting on March 7 at 1:00 p.m. at the Old Troy Pike Community Church Hall. St. Stephen's Catholic Church will host a dinner commemorating the Hungarian Revolution of 1848 on Sunday, March 14, at 1:00 p.m. Please call Michele Daley-LaFlame at 937- 278-5970 for details. St. Stephen's Church also will have a sausage sale on March 19 with pick-up from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The cost is $3.50 per pound, and orders should be placed with Michele Daley-LaFlame at 937-278- 5970 by March 14. Our branch will hold a cabbage roll sale on March 25 with pick-up from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. at St. Stephen's Church Hall. The cost is $2 each, and orders should be placed with Michele (937-278-5970), Anne Marie (937-667-1211), or Annie Kertesz (937-275-6654) by March 19.
