Branch News Branch 28 members Frank Schauer, Maria Schauer and Elizabeth Cibulas (R) prepare to host the "Souvenirs of Hungary" radio program from the studios ofWKTL-90.7 FM Struthers, Ohio. Tommy and I are going with William Penn Association to Europe on Sept. 28. We cannot wait. Our first stop is in Croatia. We have never been there. We're looking forward to seeing something new, though our first love is always Hungary. I hope you all can take advantage of these trips. They are always first class. Speaking of first class, I hope that everyone who was eligible for the Mort 90 conversion took advantage of that super-great opportunity. Call me anytime if you have questions, and I will try my best to help you. Remember, I am always only a phone call away. My home number is 734-782-4667, and my cell number is 313-418-5572. Please call me if you have news to share. I would love hearing from you. Have a wonderful fall! Branch 28 Youngstown, OH by Kathy Novak I can't believe we are into September already, and the students are returning to class. We all wish them the best of luck with their studies. Just a quick reminder that on Sept. 12, the day following the WPA Picnic, the Youngstown American Hungarian Club will host its annual Heritage Day at 2219 Donald Ave., Youngstown, from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. Plenty of food, pastries and activities will be available as we celebrate the 25th anniversary of this event. Special anniversary wishes go out to Dan and Betty Kalosky on their 70th wedding anniversary and to John and Helen Kaluczky on their 72nd wedding anniversary. Best wishes to these two special couples and to all other couples marking another wonderful year together. Happy birthday to all those celebrating their special day this month. We also extend our sincere condolences to all those who recently experienced the loss of a loved one. We thank Elizabeth Cibulas and Maria and Frank Schauer for giving us an inside look at what goes on in the studios of WKTL-90.7 FM Struthers, Ohio. They, along with the Check family, are the people who share the hosting duties on the "Souvenirs of Hungary" radio show broadcast on WKTL every Saturday from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. For your life insurance and annuity needs, please call Kathy Novak at 330-746-7704 or Alan Szabó at 330- 482-9994. Branch 59 Windber, PA by Shirley A. Rakoczy-Przywara August 1 to 7 was truly a memorable experience as my cousin Marge Popovnak and I from Branch 59—along with 28 other members from other areas of the country—attended the Hungarian Heritage Experience at Scenic View, near Somerset, Pa. We not only learned about the Hungarian language but were also taught cooking and embroidery skills. I was amazed at the number of out-of-state vehicles that were in the parking lot, and I, for one, hope the event continues to be an annual tradition for William Penn Association. Liz Szabó Vos of Magyar Marketing and her three children also participated in the week-long event. Every attendee received their choice of a Magyar coffee mug, and each day a name was drawn from a hat and another gift was awarded to the lucky winner. Thank you very much, Liz! To all those celebrating birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions in August, we wish you the BEST! In some areas, schools will start for the year before the end of August. Please be on the look-out for the little ones heading back to school. Sept. 11 is right around the corner, and I am looking forward to a successful Fraternal-Fest at Scenic View. I'm hoping Windber Branch 59 will be well represented. 'Til next time, safe travels to everyone and hope to see you at the WPA Picnic - Jó étvágyat!
