Branch News Young members of Branch 88 share a moment with Santa at the branch’s annual family Christmas party. Branch 90 Allentown, PA Branch 98 Bethlehem, PA Branch 216 Northampton, PA by Nancy M. Kovach We held our Branch Christmas Party at the Emmaus McDonald's, on Sunday, Dec. 6. First, we gathered in the restaurant play area until everyone arrived, then ordered our lunches and moved inside to eat. There was about four inches of snow on the ground, and the trees in the area looked like a winter wonderland. Santa arrived after lunch, giving gifts to all the children and their parents. Among the gifts the light-up yo-yos were a big hit. Before we parted, we had ice cream for dessert. Because of the snow storm, we had a very small party, but we hope that everyone can come next year. A special thanks to the WPA Board members and the Home Office personnel for their gifts and their help. Their goodies made our party a success. Everyone also received a calendar for 2010. Call me if you need assistance at 610-326-7429. We hope that all of you had a Merry Christmas and hope you'll have a happy and healthy new year. Branch 129 Columbus, OH by Árpád Sibrik Branch 129 congratulates 70-year members Andrew and Mary Finta. We wish them many more good years in their home in Apple Valley, Howard, Ohio. On Dec. 6, our branch held its Christmas party at the Grove City Elks Club, with about 160 members and guests, including 25 children. Santa visited the children and gave them gifts and a monetary gift, too. Everyone else received a calendar and goodie bag. The Cultural Club of the Hungarian church catered the excellent Hungarian food. After the party, everyone sang Christmas carols. During this past summer, my wife Priscilla and I were in the hospital. After our release, we stayed with our daughter, Terri Isabel, at her home in Pickerington for five weeks, until we were strong enough to stay by ourselves in our home. Ferenc Relle is getting a little stronger. His wife Gertrude celebrated her 90th birthday at Scioto Country Club. We hope that more members will come to our branch meetings. They are held at the Hungarian Church on the second Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m.. For your life insurance and annuity needs, please call Arpad Sibrik at 614-231-8024, or write to him at 645 S. Kellner Road, Columbus, OH 43209. Branch 159 Phoenixville, PA by Nancy Kovach Branch 159 held its annual Christmas party for the children and their parents on Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Burger King restaurant in Phoenixville. Everyone ordered lunch and, because of the inclement weather conditions, the children were unable to use the restaurant's outside play area. Some, however, took advantage of the new computers. After lunch, gifts were distributed to the children, their parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. It really was a fun time for everyone. The kids especially liked the light-up yo-yos, as did some of the adults. Everyone was given a Penn Scenic View calendar. Later, it started to snow, so our party was cut short. Thanks to the WPA Board of Directors and the Home Office personnel for their gifts and assistance. For information about branch activities and WPA life insurance and annuity plans, please call 610- 326-7429. We hope that each of you had a Merry Christmas and wish a Happy New Year to all.
