I would like to share these thoughts with you: allow your light to shine; make a difference in someone's life; give a helping hand; make someone smile; give a little of your time. Branch 352 Coraopolis, PA by Dora McKinsey It's that time of year again when we think about what projects we plan to tackle this spring and summer. It's also that time of year again for the annual Join Hands Day when, as a fraternal benefit society, we work together to help others through community service. On Saturday, May 22, Branch 352, along with several other local branches, will be planting flowers and performing light landscape work at Scenic View in Rockwood, Pa. Please come and join us beginning at 10:00 a.m. Lunch will be provided to all who participate. If you need directions to Scenic View, please let me know by calling me at 412-319-7116 or by sending an e-mail to dmckinsey@hotmail.com. Remember, we are still collecting personal care items to be donated to the Ronald McDonald House in Pittsburgh for families who have loved ones at Children's Hospital. They also accept gift cards for Walmart or Target. Please contact me if you have items to donate, and I can make arrangements to have them picked up; or you can bring them with you on May 22 to Scenic View. If you have any accomplishments or reports of community service you would like to share, please contact me. Also, if you see a need in your community that you feel we could help with, please do not hesitate to let me know. Branch 800 Altoona, PA by Vincent Frank A happy and blessed Mother's Day to all mothers from Branch 800 on Sunday, May 9. The arrival of Mother's Day can bring us a warm batch of memories about our moms, who were always baking something good. The pleasant smell in the house would make us say "yummy, yummy." Hope your Mother's Day is filled with fots of happy surprises. Memorial Day, May 31, also called Decoration Day, is a patriotic holiday in America. It's a day set aside for Americans to remember those who lost their lives in defense of our country. Let us take a moment to remember those who are not with us this Memorial Day. May they rest in peace. Happy birthday to all those celebrating their birthday during this month of May. Good health to all of you. All members of Branch 800 are welcome to attend our branch meetings held on the first Tuesday of each month from September through May. Our meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. and are held at Our Lady of Lourdes Education Center in Altoona. Come and offer your input in our branch affairs. I would imagine with schools closing in early June, that many are thinking about a nice vacation. Our Association would like you to try the WPA's own Scenic View Cabins and Lodges in the Laurel Highlands. It is about an hour's drive from Pittsburgh. There, you will find comfort, privacy and reasonable rates on cabins and lodge accommodations. To make your reservations, call toll-free 1-800-848-7366, ext. 103. We ask branch members to encourage your family members to purchase their life insurance and annuities from the William Penn Association. For more information on what the WPA has to offer, please call Bob Jones in Altoona at 814-942- 2661. No pressure will ever be put upon you. Schutz The members of Branch 8121 held their first meeting of 2010 on April 7. We decided to participate in this year's food drive by making a donation to the local Christian food bank in May. We also completed all our annual reports and forwarded them to the Home Office. After the business portion of the meeting, members enjoyed socializing in the true fraternal spirit.
