The church hall had a large lighted tree and the tables were decorated with Branch News The children of Branch 226 welcome Santa to the branch’s Christmas party. beautiful centerpieces. A fruit punch fountain dispensed cool refreshment, and there were pretzels and chips to snack on at each table. The delicious buffet luncheon included fried chicken, cold cuts, rigatoni, a potato dish and fruit salad. For dessert, families were treated to a choice of two beautifully decorated sheet cakes. After the meal, the children were entertained by a magic show presented by Janinie Productions, featuring several small live furry animals and a bird. Then Santa arrived to the joy of the children who lined up to sit on his lap and tell him their Christmas wishes. Santa gave the children gifts and toys furnished by the Home Office and Branch 226. There were 35 children in attendance with approximately double that number of adults. All had a great time. We thank the Home Office for its support. We send special thanks to our friends and branch officers who work hard and put forth the time and effort to produce a wonderful Christmas party. Our members were saddened by the passing of Violet Lenart who served tirelessly for many years as an officer of Branch 226 and as a member of the former National Auditing Committee. Our sympathies are also extended to the family of Steven Balogh, who passed away recently. Steven participated in many Hungarian functions throughout the years. Our William Penn Magyar Folk Dancers were active this past year, singing and dancing to the delight of the elderly and shut-ins.
