Branch 28 Youngstown, OH by Kathy Novak Weather sure didn't hamper this year's WPA Picnic-A Great Fraternal Fest. Once again, there was plenty of food, fun, music and friends to be found during this wonderful event. We congratulate Endre Csornán and his committee for doing all the hard work in preparing for this day. In spite of the rain, people found a way to make it a very enjoyable day. Branch 28 arrived on one of the five buses that brought members and guests to Penn Scenic View that day. From what I could see, I think it's safe to say all our travelers had a very comfortable and enjoyable trip. Several Branch 28 members were even lucky enough to win Chinese auction items. Special thoughts and prayers go out to the many victims of all the recent hurricanes. From July 28 to 30, the Scholastic Clay Target program held its National Championship in Sparta, 111. About 2,100 young shooters from 35 states participated. One of Ohio's representatives was 9-year-old Byrce Schauer, a member of Branch 28. Byrce was among the rookies who found this to be a wonderful experience, one he got to share with his parents and grandparents Frank and Mary Schauer. Warm congratulations to all those celebrating anniversaries or birthdays this month, especially Margaret Kuty on her 95th. Get well wishes to all those not feeling up to par these days. Our sincere sympathy to all those members who have recently experienced the loss of a loved one.
