Turns Hello from busy Harrisburg. The summer just flew by and I am joy­ously watching our children (includ­ing my son) go back to school. Branch 336 wrapped up the summer with two fun and successful events. On July 12, about 200 people attended our annual picnic held at Bressler Park. The day began with the Branch 336 golf tournament held at Sunset Golf Course in Middletown. It was a beautiful day for sun, food and dancing. That is probably why a lot of NEXT DEADLINE SEPTEMBER 15,2008 us were moving slowly the next day. On July 19, Branch 336 was host to the 25th Annual WPA Golf Tourna­ment played at Dauphin Highlands Golf Course. The temperature was in the 90's, but the golf scores were much lower. The following members spent the day showing off their sports skills: Bill Turns, Bob Hippensteel, Jacob Brawley, Chris Dean, Clayton Cobaugh, Roger Kramer, Roy Hippensteel, JoAnn Fessler, Bob Harbison, Ed Houseman, Murray Sperling, Ron Solomon, Tom McKee, Lou Gingerich, Rich Gray, Lorie Gray, Dan Swartz, Amy Swartz, Bob Kóser, Ronald Keyton, Grace Matlock, Dick Schneck, Dave Post, Harry Nye and Dan Galbraith. Let's wish a happy and healthy September birthday to our following members: Louis Feher, Kay Isola, William Lohr, James Oswalt, Joseph Smith, Karen Tracy, Nan Reisinger, Ryan Smith, Stephen Taljan, Rebecca Loesch, Steve Veronikis, Ashlie Zeiders, Richard Knebel, William Turns, Albert Mushock, Zachary Gall, Jennifer Keely and Joseph Wass. Branch 590 Cape Coral, FL by Joan Mauerman Branch 590 held a picnic in April at Gilchrist Park in Punta Gorda, Fla., We had a nice crowd of 37 faithful WPA members in attendance. Door prize winners were Kalman Magyar, Irene Franko, Ilona Schultz and Eleanor Toth. Ball game winners were John Nagy and Elizabeth Szigeti. Winners of the bean toss was Gyongy Császár. Richard Galambos won the cover-all at bingo. Everyone enjoyed the bacon fry, stuffed cabbage (made by Eugene Toth), hot dogs, hamburgers and various salads and pastries. Ilona Schultz made a delicious diós torta. Thanks to all. A special "hello" to Helen Rosner. We all miss you. Get well wishes to Betty Var go, Endre Csornán, Elmer Toth, Emily Damon, Danny Mauerman and Frank Wukovits. Happy birthday to all our members celebrating this month. Many happy returns. Happy anniversary to Erin and Chad Dukats, Emily and Patrick Damon and Kim and Colin Hughes. Our next meeting for Branch 590 will be a picnic on Friday, Oct. 10, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Gilchrist Park, Punta Gorda, Fla. Hope to see you there. It's a long day for Mike and me. We travel three hours down and three hours back. But, as long as our members attend and enjoy themselves, so will we, God willing. The Plant City Social Club will resume their dinners in September. They host their dinners on the second Sunday of each month, September through May. We hope you and your family will stop by for a delicious dinner. Our condolences to the family of Joseph Taylor of Branch 28 Young­stown, Ohio, who passed away recently. Julie, our prayers go out to you and your children and grandchil­dren.
