Branch News There were plenty of smiling young faces at Branch 28’s annual Christmas party. Branch 28 President Steve Novak (far left) and National Vice President-Fraternal Endre Csornán (far right) congratulate Branch 28’s new 50-year members (l-r) Frank Schauer, Sonny Tollas, Irma Polgar and Leslie Polgar. Best wishes to all those celebrating birthdays or anniversaries this month. Our deepest sympathy to all those who recently lost a loved one, especially Lori Szabó on the loss of her mother. Please keep me informed if you have news to share. We are always looking for info about our members. Branch 76 Philadelphia, PA by Bette Lewis Tokar We hope that 2008 will prove to be a wonderful year for everyone. We also want to send special greetings to all our members: we hope that you are all well and reasonably happy. We ask all our members to keep us informed of any special news—a new addition to your family, a special birthday or anniversary. We would love to pass the news along. We particularly want to express our gratitude to Stephen Pokomy and James Pokomy, who have been stalwart supporters and officers for many years. We are happy with our present officers, but we would like to see more activity by our members (and more members, too). None of us is getting any younger and it is important for any organization to have new (and younger) members to replace those who want to cut back on their activities. We could use help from people who have the skills to set up a data-base of our branch members. Did you make any New Year's resolutions? We invariably resolve to improve our habits to promote good health and get our lives organized and up-to-date. What about you? We recommend very strongly that you look over your insurance coverage-for your life, your cars and your home. The cost of housing has increased so much in the last few years that few of us have kept our coverage at an adequate level. The WPA does not offer homeowner's or car insurance, so get in touch with those agents and review your coverage. If you bought your life insurance 10 or more years ago, it possibly no longer provides sufficient benefits because prices have risen so much. My parents took out a $3,000 policy for me as a child. It was a munificent sum at the time, but would not go very far today. If you want to make any change in your life insurance coverage for yourself or your children, do not hesitate to call us at 215-357-4516. If you are looking for a safe investment with a good return, think about purchasing an annuity from the WPA. We would be happy to provide you with information. Keep well! We wish you a warm and healthy winter. Branch 89 __ Homestead, PA by Ruth D. Toth What a great time was had by all at our annual Christmas party. To begin the festivities, Branch President Elmer W. Toth welcomed all to the party. The atmosphere was very jolly, with all of Santa's helpers prepared to make all go smoothly. We were entertained by Glitter Dot and Dapper, who kept the audience in awe with their act, which included participation by the children. At the end of their performance, they had the children get up and dance with them to jolly Christmas music. After the show, a delicious luncheon was served, which included an array of pizzas and other great items. Before long the sound of bells could be heard and the children's excitement grew as they knew Santa William Penn Life, January 2008 17
