Many Branch 18 members are going to Hungary on Sept. 23 with Fathers Barnabas and Angelus of Holy Cross Hungarian Catholic Church. This will be my 12th trip there, and I can't wait. My mom, Irene Korpák, is going to Hungary in August to visit family. This will be her 33rd trip. I hope you all plan on visiting sometime. It is a beautiful country. If I can help you with your WPA business, please call me anytime at (734) 782-4667. Enjoy the rest of the summer and remember our members in the armed forces in your prayers. Branch 28 Youngstown, PA by Kathy Novak Eloping everyone has recuperated after another successful golf event and all are getting ready for the Fraternal Fest in September. Just a reminder that it might not be too late to reserve your seat on the Branch 28 bus trip to the Sept. 15 WPA picnic at Penn Scenic View. Seats are going fast, so call Steve Novak at (330) 746-7704 or Frank Schauer at (330) 549-2935 for more information and reservations. "Job well done" to the members of the Youngstown Hungarian Club who represented the Youngstown Hungarian community by hosting a booth at the annual Youngstown State University Festival of Arts weekend. What a nice birthday and Father's Day surprise Alex Fedor received when his daughter Alexis arrived from the New York City area, where she is pursuing a career in the theatrical circuit. Remember these dates:- Sunday, Aug. 12, Hungarian Day at 2219 Donald Ave., sponsored by the Youngstown American Hungarian Federation;- Sunday, Aug. 19, St. Stephen Feast Day celebration at St. Stephen of Hungary Church, 854 Wilson Ave., featuring a procession honoring the relic of St. Stephen owned by Ted and Virginia Kinnick; and- Saturday, Sept. 15, our bus trip to Branch News the WPA Picnic-A Great Fratemal- Fest at Penn Scenic View. It's always nice to see the results of WPA scholarships. For instance, on April 21, former scholarship recipient Amy Toth (pictured) graduated from the National University of Health Services located in the Chicago area. Amy received the degree of doctor of chiropractic. After her wedding to Jay Dahl on Aug. 4, she will be establishing her own practice. Way to go, Dr. Toth, and much luck with all your future endeavors. Get well wishes go out to all those not up to par, especially Lori Kalitich. Happy anniversary wishes to all those couples celebrating another year of shared happiness and love, especially John and Helen Kaluczky. Hoping all those having a birthday this month enjoy their special day, especially Branch 28 President Steve Novak. Do you have any questions about life insurance or anuities? Then please call either Kathy Novak at (330) 746-7704 or Alan Szabó at (330) 482-9994. Our sincere sympathy is extended to all those who have recently experienced the loss of a loved one. We wish everyone a safe Labor Day holiday, and may all those attending the General Convention have an enjoyable experience with many successful achievements. Branch 249 ^ Dayton, OH by Anne Marie Schmidt We hope everyone is enjoying their summer and spending relaxing times with family and friends. Baseball, hot dogs, ice cream-I hate to see it end. Our best wishes and congratulations to the Rev. Gabor Nitsch who will be leaving Dayton and his position as pastor of the Old Troy Pike Community Church effective Aug. 1. He will be accepting a new assignment in Ligonier, Pa. Many thanks to Rev. Nitsch and his wife Helen for their years of dedication and support of the Dayton Hungarian community. They truly will be missed. Soon it will be time to fill our calendars with many September activities, beginning with the WPA General Convention Sept. 3 to 5, and followed closely by the WPA Picnic at Penn Scenic View on Sept. 15. Please call Michele LaFlame or me if you are interested in traveling to the picnic with us as a group. We are in the process of organizing teams for the 2007-2008 bowling season. Invite a friend and join us for Sunday afternoon bowling. The schedule and location are yet to be determined. St. Stephen's Catholic Church will be offering cooking classes beginning in September. Please call Michele for details. The time is nearing for our everpopular Cabbage Roll Sale. Please see next month's William Penn Life for more information. For answers to your questions about the WPA, our activities, life insurance or annuities, please call either Branch Coordinator Michele LaFlame at (937) 278-5970 or Anne Marie Schmidt at (937) 667-1211. Branch 296 Springdale, PA by Diane M. Torma ITope everyone had a great time at the golf tournament and enjoyed the new format. We had great attendance and a record participation in the golf hole sponsorship program. Thanks to everyone who supported the Scholarship Foundation throughout all of the weekend's activities. Now we will set our sights on the 7th Annual Picnic, which will be held at Penn Scenic View on Saturday, Sept 15. If you have never attended this event, please consider doing so. It is well worth the trip—just ask the thousand or so people who attend every year and enjoy the great food, pastries, music, children's tent, Chinese auction, raffles, fellowship and many other activities planned.
