Branch 51 Passaic, NJ by Christine Baldyga Branch 51 will hold its branch Christmas party and election of officers on Sunday, Dec. 2. The party will begin at 2:00 p.m. It will be held at the American-Hungarian Club, 21 New Schley St., Garfield. There will be entertainment which is sure to be enjoyed by all. Santa Claus is expected to be at the party, and refreshments will be served. Election of branch officers for 2008 will be held before the party at 1:00 p.m. We hope all of our members will be able to join us. We wish everyone a very happy and healthy Thanksgiving. Branch 76 Philadelphia, PA by Jack and Bette Tokár The holidays are fast approaching. As usual, the hustle and bustle of preparations often keeps us too busy to really dwell on the meaning of the holidays. Our family has much to be thankful for: our family, friends, church, clubs and, of course, the William Penn Association. We hope that you, too, have much to be thankful for-especially good health and loving family and friends. We want to issue a special welcome to new members Robert Szilagyi, and Robert Millman. We congratulate Otto and Myra Mezei and their family for their wisdom in increasing their insurance coverage to meet the needs of their growing family. We would like to send a special "hello!" to all the members of the Philadelphia branch, especially to Shirley and Kady Demaria, Karen Davis, the DeVoes, the Fogarasi family, the Garcias, Rosalie Gogos, the Harta family, Aranka Mezei, Edith Nemeth, Gyöngyi Rozman and the Vidas. We hope that Helen Vida has recovered from her broken foot. We want to thank Joan Mauerman and Mike Tomcsak of Florida for the information they provided for us. We Branch News Branch 249 Dayton, Ohio, recently bid farewell to the Rev. Gabor Nitsch and his wife Helen, after Rev. Nitsch accepted his new position as pastor at the Bethlen Home in Ligonier, Pa. Branch 129 Columbus, OH by Árpád Sibrik Branch 129 will host its next branch meeting on Nov. 26 at 7:00 p.m. at the Hungarian Reformed Church. During this meeting, we will have the election of officers for 2008. We will also be finalizing plans for the branch Christmas party, which will be held Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Grove City Elks Lodge, 2140 Sonaro Dr., Grove City. The party will begin at 1:00 p.m. with food served at 2:00 p.m. The menu will include the usual great Hungarian food and a cash bar. Santa will make his annual appearance and will have special treats for all the children. More information about the party will be included in a letter from Branch Secretary Margaret Leonardo. The cultural club hosted a service commemorating the 1956 revolution in Hungary. After the service, a breaded pork dinner was served at the Hungarian church.
