Moneywi$e with Mark Lantz, c.s.a. T urning sand into diamonds We learn from the wisdom of our senior members. When I started in the life insurance business in 1986,1 learned from seasoned professionals and leaders in the field. As the years went by, I began to understand their words of wisdom as it applies to my clients and others I know. Story by Ben Feldman: A group of travelers were in the desert. They were instructed by their guide to fill their pockets full of sand before they went to sleep. The next morning, they awoke to find that the sand had turned into diamonds. With amazement the travelers could not believe their eyes. The travelers all wished that they had filled their pockets with more sand, which were now diamonds. Moral of the story: When you are older, health issues may be a hurdle to deal with when buying more life insurance. The cost is going to be more, as life insurance is based upon age, health conditions today and health history. Word to the wise: Fill your pockets today. Younger adults today do not have the appreciation for life insurance that previous generations did. Today, only an estimated 40 percent of Americans own permanent life insurance. Who will provide their life insurance needs through their senior years? Your William Penn Association life insurance agent will educate your family members about the value of permanent life insurance for meeting the family's income protection needs today and into tomorrow. We are here to help each of you and the people you care about. You will appreciate the value of permanent life insurance when you are older; it is the "diamond in the rough." We would like to thank those senior members who have purchased permanent life insurance for their younger family members. You are passing along one of our fraternal society's most important traditions and emphasizing the importance of permanent life insurance coverage. Call your local WPA agent for more details.
