Bowling tourney rolls into Motown THE WPA WILL KICK OFF our schedule of great fraternal events for 2005 with the 62nd edition of the Annual Bowling Tournament and Scholarship Days. All members and friends of the WPA are invited to join us for this family-oriented event May 27 to 29 in Taylor, Michigan, just outside of Detroit. The tournament weekend will begin Friday, May 27, with the annual meeting of the William Penn Fraternal Association Scholarship Foundation. The meeting will take place at the Holiday Inn in Southgate, Mich. After the meeting, all bowlers and guests are welcome to a reception in the hotel, featuring plenty of food, refreshments and good old-fashioned fraternal fellowship. The adult bowling tournament will begin Saturday, May 28, with the team event and continues on Sunday, May 29, with the doubles and singles events. All bowling events will take place at Taylor Lanes, the site of our 54th annual tournament in 1997. Also on Saturday, the WPA will host its Ninth Annual Juvenile Fun Event, a bowling event designed specifically for the enjoyment of children age 15 and under. The emphasis will be on fun, and everyone will leave a winner. Free shuttle bus transportation between the hotel and bowling lanes will be available. On Saturday evening, bowlers and guests will gather in casual attire for the bowling tournament awards dinner at the Holiday Inn. The evening will feature a pre-dinner cash bar, a buffet dinner and door prizes. The evening will conclude with a very special prize. Packets containing information, entry forms and hotel and awards dinner reservation forms will be mailed to all 2004 team captains. Entry forms for the adult tournament and Juvenile Fun Event, as well as the awards dinner reservation form, can also be found on the next several pages of this issue of the William Penn Life. The deadline for submitting entries for the adult tournament is midnight, April 15,2005. For the Juvenile Fun Event, all entries must be received by April 20, 2005. The awards dinner reservations must be sent to the Home Office by May 4,2005. All hotel reservations must be made directly with the Holiday Inn. (Rooms subject to availability.) Anyone interested in acquiring a copy of the rules and regulations governing the adult tournament or the Juvenile Fun Event, or who would like hotel reservations forms, should contact the Home Office at 1-800-848-7366, Ext. 126. The Home Office, bowling committee and members of branches in the greater Detroit area are all working hard to make this an especially memorable weekend for all who attend. We'll see you and your family in Michigan! j\yp[] • Adult Tournament Entry Form Page 9 • Awards Dinner Reservation Form Page 10 • Juvenile Fun Event Entry Form Page 11 8 William Penn Life, March 2005
