Members encouraged to apply for grants through WPFA Scholarship fund PITTSBURGH - WPA members planning to attend an accredited college, university or school of nursing this fall are invited to apply for scholarship grants available through the William Penn Fraternal Association Scholarship Foundation. Applications are currently being accepted for grants for the 2005-2006 academic year. Only full-time stu­dents are eligible. To qualify for a grant, the applicant must be a life-benefit member of the William Penn Association for at least four years as of Jan. 1,2005. The applicant must also be a child or grandchild of a WPA life-benefit member in good standing for at least three years as of Jan. 1,2005. All applications for new and renewal grants must be signed by the applicant and postmarked no later than May 31,2005. Emails will not be accepted. Members and friends invited to join the WPA for an ‘Adventure in Hungary’ PITTSBURGH - Tired of winter? Looking forward to the return of spring? Why not spend part of this spring exploring the beauty of Hungary by joining the "Adventure in Hungary Tour" sponsored by the WPA and Magyar Marketing? The tour leaves May 29 and returns June 8. In between, you will visit Budapest and all its sights, including the Castle District, Gellért Hegy, Parliament and the Danube. The tour also features a trip to see the famous Danube Bend as well as a visit to the newly renovated castle at Gödöllö. Your adventure will include a visit to the Spring Pentecost Festival in the quaint town of Szentendre. The festival features performances by dance and choral groups, demonstra­tions by local artisans and a wonder­ful array of Hungarian foods. The tour will make a short visit to Kosice in Slovakia (formerly the Hungarian city of Kassa). Guests will also stay in the renovated castle/hotel at Lillafüred. You will also visit the Hortobágy and see one of its wonderful horse shows. And did we mention visits to Kalocsa, Szeged, Ópusztaszer, Lake Balaton and Herend? Donations being accepted for tsunami relief PITTSBURGH - The WPA Founda­tion is continuing to accept donations toward relief efforts in areas of south Asia that were devastated by the December earthquake and tsunami. All donations will be forwarded to reliable agencies who will see to it that the money will be used where it is needed most.
