I know we are all horrified by the recent earthquake and tsunami. The William Penn Association Foundation is accepting donations which will be forwarded to the proper areas. Please consider donating. What a lot of heartbreak in 2004. God is surely trying to tell us something. Hope we're listening. We all pray for a much better 2005. Happy birthday to Lou Deregi, Bill Bero, Mike Kara, Diane Torma (girlfriend), Michael Toth, Louis E. Deregi, Emilia Blair, Mike Soter, Jason Cassar, Joseph T. Gall, Kathleen Sipos, Steve Cemi, Elaina Kline, Murray Mayoros, Margaret Hatline, Emmalee Collins, Sierra Rivera and Marge Heller. Hope you all have many more. Please remember all our deceased members in your prayers, especially Alexander Nagy, Joseph Baranyi, Alvin Lengel and Elizabeth Goff. May they rest in peace. Hello to Steve Danko. A little bird told me you enjoy the Branch 18 articles. Thank you. I will return home in February to attend the Annual White Rose Ball sponsored by the Hungarian Arts Club. I hope many of you plan to attend and support this wonderful event. Without your support, events like this would no longer exist. Wouldn't that be a shame? You will be pleased to know that the WPA will be well represented at this event. Happy, safe and healthy winter. Think spring and annual bowling tournament. Remember: You can call me anytime. I also have a fax in Florida, so I can still handle all your WPA business. Branch 19 New Brunswick, NJ by Evelyn B. Bodnar On Dec. 12 we held our annual Christmas party. The officers were happy to see 19 children have fun. Lunch was enjoyed by all. The Rev. Dr. Joseph G. Bodnar, our branch president, welcomed everyone and led the singing of Christmas carols. Evelyn Bodnar, branch secretarytreasurer, accompanied the songs on Branch News The youngest member at Branch 14’s Christmas party was 3-month-old Conrad S. Kethcum. Conrad is pictured here with his mother Zsuzsana Ketchum and WPA Sales Representative Jeff Ward. the keyboard. The children greeted Santa with excitement. They were very happy and spoke to him as they received their gifts. During the second hour of the party, Pebbles the Clown painted the children's faces or hands with Christmas characters. There was a hush the entire time as the children watched her paint each and every child. This, indeed, was a wonderful start to the holiday season! Please remember Branch Vice President Ruth Vasvary in your prayers. She has been ill for several months. Ruth's granddaughter, Melissa Miller, will be leaving in two weeks to attend veterinary school on St. Kitts Island. We are happy for her continued success, but we will miss her at our meetings where she served as an auditor. After the party, we held a business meeting during which we elected officers for 2005. The following were elected: Rev. Bodnar, president; Ruth Vasvary, vice president; Evelyn B. Bodnar, secretary-treasurer; and Albert Suldo and Jennifer Orlick, auditors. We wish everyone a healthy, happy new year. Branch 26 Sharon, PA by Gerry Davenport On Dec. 11, Branch 26 held its annual family Christmas party at Neatfeat Roller Skating Rink in Grove City, Pa. It was surprising to see so many adults put on roller skates and "dance to the music" right along with the kids. A pizza party—complete with Christmas cookies, delicious brownies and other homemade desserts— was enjoyed by all. The evening was complete when Jolly 01' St. Nick (R.J. Robison) made his appearance. It was the highlight of the evening. The children, as well as a few adults, sat on Santa's lap and told him what they wanted to receive on Christmas day. After pictures were taken on Santa's lap, the children received Christmas stockings containing treats donated by the Home Office. Santa's helpers—Alexandra Tew, Harley Tew and Nicolette McDonough—also distributed a special gift to each child, compliments of Branch 26. Many thanks to the WPA National Officers and Board of Directors for their financial assistance and Christmas stockings. I would also like to thank Branch President Glenn Davenport for putting so much of his time and effort into making this event a special evening for all in attendance. Also, thank you to Barbi Tew, Jimmy Tew and Suzi Robison for your help. A brief branch meeting and election of officers was held after the party. Reelected were Glenn Davenport, president; Suzi Robison, vice president; and Gerry Davenport, secretary-treasurer. Branch 26 extends our wishes for a happy, healthy new year to all, especially our service men and women. We continue to pray for them and for their safe return home. 16 William Penn Life, February 2005
