Branch 18 member Lou Almassy (center), who recently celebrated his 87th birthday, receives best wishes from his grandsons, Michael and Christopher Willim. memorable evening for all our mem­bers. So, get your fancy duds ready and plan on joining us. Anyone who has at least 50 years of membership is invited (along with a guest). Check future branch reports for news as these plans come to fruition. Our June 2006 trip is going to be a winner. We are going to Niagara Falls, but in a different way than we ever did before. We are staying at the recently opened New Seneca Niagara Falls Casino in Niagara Falls, N.Y. The trip includes a shopping excur­sion to Niagara-on-the-Lake and a ride on the Maid of the Mist. I've never been on that boat tour. We will also be attending a wine tasting at Vizcarra Vineyards and go to Becker Farms to feed all the baby animals. We have a lot planned for this trip during the daylight hours. In the eve­nings you will be free to gamble to your heart's content. Cost for this four-day/ three-night trip is $235 for WPA members and $435 for non-members. At our Novem­ber branch meeting, 22 people made reservations. We have room for 10 more. Please send your reservation and payment as soon as possible. This will be our nicest trip ever. Memo to snowbirds: Please call 1- 800-848-7366 to change your address. Remember also to change it back when you return in the spring. Welcome new members Nancy (Almassy) Willim (thanks, Nancy, for our special secret; I'm tickled) and Branch News Cathy Anderson. Marianne Orsargos added to her insur­ance. Thank you all for your faith in the WPA and me. Hope to see more of you. Get well wishes to Julius Mayoros, Helen Nagy, Augie Acosta and Rocky Borsa. We will remember you in our prayers. Congratulations to my special friend, Michael Oberg. On Dec. 18, he will graduate with a degree in sociology and political sci­ence. As if that was not enough, he is going for his masters degree. Do I sound proud, or what? Super job, Michael. We love you. Please remember all our deceased members in your prayers, especially Denes Kovács, Helen Egei, Juliana Yoo, Delphine Wachowics, Mary Pollocj, Mary Hill and John Mesco. May they rest in peace with the Lord. Branch 28 Youngstown, OH by Kathy Novak Can it truly be that Santa will be mak­ing his yearly flight across the world already? Our November meeting was held in conjunction with the recognition dinner for our 50-year members. The event was held at Lucianno Restau­rant on Nov. 14. The honorees re­ceived a 50-year pin, a certificate and WPA items. Congratulations not only to these honorees but also to all WPA members as they are the reason the WPA is one of the oldest fraternal benefit societies in the United States. The annual family Christmas party will be held Dec. 3.1 will report on Santa's visit and the day's other events in our January report. Our scholarship raffle will be held that day, along with the election of branch officers. So, look for all the winners in next month's magazine. A big "thank you" to the Home Office for sponsoring the Holiday Basket program and bringing much needed assistance to those in need this holiday season. As tradition has it, the Young­stown Hungarian community gath­ered to commemorate the 1956 Hun­garian Revolution. This year, there was a nice outdoor service held at the monument erected on the grounds of the Franciscan friary. The grounds also feature a "walk through the woods" containing Hungarian Sta­tions of the Cross depicting the 1956 event.
