May you all have many more. Please remember our deceased members and their families in your prayers, especially Michael Ferko and Mary Reed. May they rest in peace. I want to tell you about a lovely young man. His name is Tamas Buzai. He is 18 years old. In Hungary, he had a terrible accident and is now paralyzed from the neck down. He has been at the Rehab Institute of Michigan since February. The Hungarian Arts Club is trying to help the family as much as possible and have asked me to spread the word to all our Hungarian members. His mother, Margo Buzai, is here with him. Expenses are sky rocketing. If you would like to help Tamas, please call Ursula Markovits at 734-326-7750. Ursula will be able to answer all your questions. I know he is getting better and may walk with braces. The doctors want him here at least two years. Of course, his insurance is not usable here. Thank you for your help. Our next branch meeting will be held Sept. 7, just before our trip to the WPA Picnic. Please call me anytime if I can help you with any of your WPA needs. Call me at 313-383-4472. Have a wonderful, healthy and safe summer. Branch 28 Youngstown, OH by Kathy Novak Hats off to the staff members and officers of our Home Office and the members of Branch 18 for preparing and hosting a wonderful fraternal weekend of bowling, lots of fun, good food, wonderful prizes and quality time with great friends. Looking forward to seeing everyone again at the Mountaineer Race Branch News Track & Gaming Resort on July 22 and 23 for the Annual Golf Tournament. Knowing how soccer is part of our ethnic background, I recently learned during a conversation with Leslie Polgar that six of his and Erma's grandchildren participate in this field of athletic adventure as part of several different teams in the Cleveland area. Their seventh grandchild chose tennis (still a great sport). Best of luck to all of them during these sporting activities. Hope you've marked your calendars for all the summer activities:- Sunday, Aug. 14. Magyar Nap at 2219 Donald Ave., sponsored by the Youngstown American Hungarian Federation.- Sunday, Aug. 21. St. Stephen of Hungary Church's 100th anniversary celebration. Mass at 2:00 p.m. at 854 Wilson Ave., followed by a dinnerdance at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Social Hall.- Saturday, Sept. 10. Our branch's bus trip to the WPA Picnic. Call Frank at 330-549-2985 or Steve at 330-746- 7704 for more information and to make reservations. We remind all young people who might attend to dress in Hungarian clothing for the annual parade.- Sunday, Sept. 11. Annual Hungarian Heritage Day, sponsored by the Youngstown Hungarian Club, 2219 Donald Ave. We commend all the participants of the local "Relay for Life" events that have been taking place for the benefit of the cancer society. Happy birthday, America! And best wishes to all those celebrating their birthday or anniversary this month. Get well wishes and warm thoughts go out to Helen Kovach, Frank and Peg Hoffer, Lou and Marge Sabo, Steve Danko and Msgr. Torok. Sincere sympathy to everyone experiencing the loss of a loved one, especially to Branch Auditor Mary Schauer on the loss of her beloved mother, Irene Aczel (who was also the mother-in-law of Branch Vice President Frank Schauer). She was a wonderful icon to many people in the Youngstown Hungarian community. During her illness, she was confined to a nursing facility and was visited daily by family members. May she and all the departed souls rest in peace. Plan ahead: Anyone wishing to know about the "in progress plans" for the 50th anniversary commemoration of the 1956 Revolution, to be held at Penn Scenic View in the fall of 2006, can call the Schauer household at 330-549-2983. For your life insurance and annuity needs, please call Alan Szabó at 330-482-9994 or me at 330-746-7704.
