We are planning our schedule of events for the year, including the annual bacon roast and children's Christmas party and would welcome your ideas and suggestions. Also in the works is a 50-year member celebration to honor these deserved members. We would love to have your input for this affair. Hope to see you there. Branch 800 Altoona, PA by Vincent Frank Happy Mother's Day to all mothers on Sunday, May 8. We can never forget our moms who have meant so much to us all. When mothers leave this world, our hearts can't help but be filled with pain and sorrow. So, all you mothers should know that you are very much loved. Many of our members and families request prayers for their recovery in their illnesses. As we all know, we can do fairly well in our prayers and meditations when we have good health, but those important activities can be very difficult to do when we are ill. So, pray for our branch members who are sick. Branch 800 meetings are hald on the first Tuesday of each month from September to May. Meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Education Center in Altoona. We hope to see you at our next metting and invite your input as we plan our branch activities. Ever since the Civil War, Memorial Day (May 30) has been a time to remember those men and women who have made the supreme sacrifice while serving our country in the armed forces. We must never forget the price they paid for the sake of our freedom. Take time this Memorial Day to visit the graves of those fallen heroes who so bravely defended our nation. Our branch mourns the death of the Rev. Kenneth A. Greiner, S.T.B. Father Greiner, 78, was residing at Garvey Manor Nursing Home when he died. We enjoyed his presence at the branch's social events over many years, and he will be missed. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Altoona with Bishop Joseph V. Adamec as celebrant. Committal was at Calvary Cemetery in Altoona. May Father Greiner's soul and the soul of Pope John Paul II rest in peace. Do you have any questions about life insurance or annuities?
