Charitable Ideas loved ones facing terminal illness. The goal is to ensure that those whose lives will be cut short by terminal illness (having a year or less to live) enjoy at least one moment of immea­surable happiness. These activities include:- Wish-Granting: Work in teams to organize and execute wishes.- Meet & Greet: Help wish recipients who are traveling by meeting them at airports or other hubs of transporta­tion and possibly assisting them during their wishes. 2. Fundraising and Support: Raising dollars or in-kind donations to support the Foundation's mission.- Embrace-a-Wish: Underwrite a travel wish, or find companies, individuals or organizations to underwrite a travel wish.- Solicit Support: Seek financial support or in-kind (goods and services) donations for the Founda­tion.- Research Resources & Contacts: Investigate and identify companies for in-kind donations or other help.- Corporate Support: Investigate and contact corporations to provide financial support, in-kind donations, and/or volunteers. 3. Administration: Activities relating to the inner workings of the Founda­tion.- Copying/Mailing: Copy, collate, stuff, and address materials for mailings.- Clerical: Answer the phone, intake wishes, send wish packets and similar tasks.- Data Entry: Input information into the Foundation's mailing list, dona­tions, attendance and volunteer Charity Links To learn more about the Fairygodmother Foundation and how you, your branch or your church can help it make wishes come true, log onto the Fairygod­mother Foundation website at: O www.foirygodmother.org database. 4. Marketing and Publicity: Activi­ties designed to attract interest as a means of gaining public attention or support.- Newsletter: Gather, edit and write content. Work with graphic designer, printer and mailer. There are three Foundation newsletters: Fairytales (for entire mailing list), Fairygodhelpers (for volunteers) and The FairyFiles (the monthly e-newsletter).- Speakers Bureau: Community outreach to engage other organiza­tions (e.g. houses of worship, fraterni­ties/sororities, women's clubs).- Photography/Videography: Capture events or wishes. 5. Events: Individual projects related to the planning and execution of social events and/or fundraising activities.- Event Planning: Help organize and make events happen. Task force chairs and members are needed for larger fundraising events.- Event Publicity: Publicize events. Draft press releases. Design and produce invitations. Poster design and execution. Media relations. Also, each year the Foundation conducts a Holiday Adopt-a-Family program. Every year, Fairygodmother Foundation sends gifts to the children of its current year wish families. This past holiday season, the Foundation broadened the scope of its program to include more family members, more families in need, and donors who wish to "adopt" them for the Holi­days. The Foundation is already making plans for the 2004 holiday season, seeking individuals or groups interested in adopting a family, as well as recommendations for families to be adopted.
