The weekend opened with the annual meeting of the William Penn Fraternal Association Scholarship Foundation. During the meeting, $10,660 was raised for the Foundation. The weekend's other activities INDEPENDENCE, OH - Thanks to the generosity of our members and friends, a total of $18,200 was raised during this year's annual bowling tournament and scholarship days. This total established a new record for funds raised during a single tournament weekend. Most of that total ($10,660) was raised during the annual meeting of the William Penn Fraternal Association Scholarship Foundation held May 28 at the Hilton Cleveland South Hotel. The benefit raffle drawn during Saturday's bowling awards dinner raised $1,935. Another $1,450 was collected through the lane sponsorship program (see list on this page). The Chinese auction, held during Friday's raised an additional $7,540.35 (see related story below). After the meeting, bowlers and guests gathered for the bowlers reception at the Hilton Cleveland South Hotel. It was a chance to have some food and get reacquainted with old friends. The highlight of the evening was a Chinese auction featuring four dozen prize packages. The auction offered something to please every age and taste and raised $2,754 for the scholarship fund. Our thanks go to all those who made the tournament a great fraternal success. Special thanks go to Tournament Administrator Robert A. Ivancso, Tournament Secretary Stephen J. Ivancso Jr., the National Officers and Home Office staff, Tournament Co-Administrators Ronald S. Balia and Frank J. Radvany, the officers and members of host Branch 14 Cleveland, all those who donated prizes or baked goods, and the staff and management of the Hilton Cleveland South Hotel and Cloverleaf Lanes. Most of all, we thank our bowlers and guests for joining us. We hope to see all of you next year in Detroit. bowlers reception, raised $2,754 for the scholarship foundation. Saturday's lunch at Cloverleaf Lanes sponsored by Branch 14 Cleveland raised $335. The remaining $1,066 was raised through donations received throughout the weekend.
