Branch News held Oct 7 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Harborview picnic grounds. Our Christmas party will be held Dec. 12 at the Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre in Fort Myers, Fla. Have a safe and happy summer. For all your life insurance and annuity needs, please call Mike Tomcsak at 863-858-8071. Branch 800 Altoona, PA by Vincent Frank Branch 800 was happy to honor three members who had attained 50 years of membership in our Association. Following the branch meeting and before the presentation of awards, Branch President Vincent Frank brought those present up-to-date on the programs and activities of our branch and Association. Branch Treasurer and Coordinator Robert Jones presented each honoree the society's emblem and a remarkable WPA pen. It was a night of celebration which included taking pictures, enjoying a nice buffet and reminiscing with the honorees. Those honored were James S. Baker, Paul A. Masic Sr. and Harry J. Stine Jr. The table centerpiece was won by Paul Masic. Flag Day is June 14. If someone would ask me the meaning of our American Flag, I would have to say that it means all that the Declaration of Independence meant it to be. Under this flag rode George Washington and his armies. Our flag carries American ideals, history and feelings. Every color, thread and star means liberty. Try to remember to display Old Glory at your home on it's 227th birthday. Happy Father's Day to all fathers on June 20. We wish all fathers good health. May you have an enjoyable summer, and may God take care of you. Have you marked your calendar for our branch summer picnic? It will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 4, at 6:00 p.m. at Highland Park in Altoona. Deadline for reservations is July 28. I am sure all of you have your summer vacation plans in order by now. Keep safety first in mind as you do your traveling. Branch 800 member Paul A. Masic Sr. (left) receives his 50-year member pin from Branch Treasurer and Coordinator Robert Jones during a recent ceremony hosted by the branch. Our branch will be on vacation, too. There will be no meetings during the months of June, July and August. Our next branch meeting will be held Tuesday, Sept. 7, at 7:00 p.m. If you have any news you would like to share with your fellow members, please call me at 814-695-0213, and I will see it's put in the William Penn Life. Branch Coordinator Robert Jones will be on duty all summer long. For help with your questions about life insurance, annuities or branch and WPA activities, call Bob at 814-942- 2661. Support your branch by telling and encouraging others to join our Association. You will not find a more financially sound fraternal society anywhere. Have a safe and happy 4th of July.
