Branch 76 Philadelphia, PA by Jack Tokár The Branch 76 Christmas party will be held Dec. 13 at the Philadelphia Hungarian Club, 1124 Southampton Road, Philadelphia. Because of space limitations, as well as children's bedtimes, there will be two separate parties. The children's party will be from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., and the adult party will be from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. Phone 215-969-9446 for reservations. As usual, the WPA will provide a goodie bag for our juvenile members. We would like to send a big "hello" to all the members of the Philadelphia branch, especially our newest members: Shirley Demaria and Armand and Laura DeVoe. The DeVoes are so impressed with their recently purchased annuities that they are interested in letting all their friends know about the great opportunity WPA annuities can provide. Another special "hello" to some special people in Branch 76 (although all our members are special). Greetings to the Harta family: Gyöngyi, I hope you had an enjoyable trip to Florida. Rosalie Gogos and Margaret Tatalaski, I hope you are feeling better. It was a pleasure meeting all the delegates at the General Convention. I also want to send another special "hello" to the old acquaintances as well as the new people I met there. Barbara House, thank you for bringing me the papers from my old home, Windsor, Ontario. Joan Mauerman and Michael Tomcsak, it was great to be with you again. John Lovász, it was a pleasure meeting you. Sándor Yuhas, I am waiting for your call. A1 and Betty Var go, it was a delight seeing you again. By the way, when I went to Slovakia, I also visited your relatives' village, Vajany. They had a templom szenteles reformátusok. The church was completely reworked and revitalized. Also at the convention it was great to see "The Three D's"—Donna, Debbie and Dora. I want to thank all of you again for all your hard work. You are all always very helpful and competent. Recently, I spent some time visiting with family in Slovakia and also had a great time in Hajduszloboszlo, Hungary. It is a nice place to visit. Happy birthday to all those who have celebrated recently and who will celebrate in the coming month. A birthday is a wonderful time to take stock of your memories and plan for the future. Remember: we are all getting older every day. The important thing is to make the most of each day and each opportunity that we are given. I want to wish everyone a blessed Christmas and a joyful new year. May the holidays and the coming year bring you health, happiness and every possible blessing. Wukovits, Jr. The South Bend Tribune, owned by WSBT Inc, recently held its 32nd Annual Election of Officers and banquet. During the banquet, Branch 132 President Alex J. Horvath had the honor of seeing his daughter, Susan Horvath Marshall, receive the 25-Year Club Certificate and Pin from the editor and publisher of the Tribune, David C. Ray. Alex Horvath is also a member of the 25-Year Club and has served as the club's president and secretary. It is not too common for two members of one family to work at the same place. I'm sure that you join me in extending congratulations to Susan and Alex and wish them all the best. By the way, Susan served as one of our delegates to the WPA 35th General Convention this September. The branch children's Christmas party will be held Saturday, Dec. 6, at noon at Saylor's Pizza. All children were sent invitations through the mail. Once again, our branch will participate in the Holiday Basket program. We already have some names of recipients, but if you know 18 Willi» Peni Life, December 2003
