The Central Benton County Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans merged 15 youth and adult volunteer groups to beautify and improve the communities of Cole Camp and Ionia by planting flowers and shrubs, painting dugouts and a community center, constructing fair exhibits, doing yardwork for seniors and picking up trash. The Lincoln Action Program connected refugee children and senior residents to build intergenerational relationships. At the Downtown Senior Center, the youth helped seniors learn computer skills.
