mushrooms. I am so happy you are feeling better, and I know Mary has something to do with that. Branch 590's picnic will be held Oct. 9 at the park on Beach Parkway in Cape Coral. Hope to see you there. A fine time was had by all who attended the McKeesport (Pa.) International Village, the Birmingham Festival in Toledo, Ohio, and the Canfield Fair in Canfield, Ohio. Thanks to Robert Ivancso for his tour of Toledo. Maren Tomcsak and Sarina Mauerman really enjoyed the Canfield Fair. Their favorite ride was a swing made by the Boy Scouts. They really liked the horses and rabbits. Maren liked the German kettle popcorn, and Sarina's favorite was the caramel apples. I enjoyed the ride home. Congratulations to Jodi Dues on being named nurse-of-the-month at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa. I'm proud of you, Jodi. She works in the intensive coronary unit. If you are in the Tampa area and have the need of a chiropractor, call Willmitch Chiropractic, Martin A. Willmitch, Physician. Marty is the nephew of Mike Tomcsak. He is the grandson of Veronica Weingart of Riverside, Calif, formerly of Youngstown, Ohio. For all your life insurance and annuity needs, please call Mike Tomcsak at 863-858-8071. Branch 800 Altoona, PA by Vincent Frank Branch 800 held its annual summer picnic in August at Highland Park in Altoona. We are very fortunate in that almost every year we have had pleasant weather for this affair, and this year was no exception. It was a great day for members and friends to gather for a summer outing. A big Branch News thank you to all committee members who helped ensure an enjoyable day with good food and prizes for all kids and adults. Very special birthday greetings are sent to member John T. Labriola who is celebrating his 90th birthday. He asked me to tell all members that he is doing well and has always enjoyed good health during his 90 years. John said he never believed he would reach this age. Mr. Labriola is living at the Winds at Mattem Orchard in Duncansville, Pa. God bless you, John. It's going to be that time of year soon. Daylight savings time comes to an end on Sunday, Oct. 26. All clocks should be turned back one hour. Also, it's a good time to place new batteries in your home's smoke detectors. This is a great time of year. We have the beautiful autumn season in full swing now with the leaves changing colors. We also will soon get to see the kids showing their Halloween colors on trick or treat night. So to all, a Happy Halloween on Oct. 31. Reasonable life insurance and annuity plans are available from the WPA. Does your policy need a change of address or beneficiary? Give Bob Jones a call at 814-942-2661 and he will help you. Tell your family and friends that our Association is a good fraternal society. God bless all our men and women in the military who are fighting terrorism. Branch 8114 Clarion, PA by Noreen Fritz The Clarion branch takes pleasure in sending congratulations to those elected to serve as National Officers and members of the Board of Directors during the WPA's 35th General Convention held at the Hilton Pittsburgh and Towers. October has arrived and fall is in the air. Before long the weather will be getting chilly. As I write this, it is still quite nice. And that's how the weather was during our annual steak fry in late August. Mother Nature was good to us, and it was wonderful to spend time with all the members who were able to attend. Everyone brought their own sunshine! I am sure everyone had fun, not to mention plenty of great food. Thank you to the branch officers for making the steak fry such a success. All the hard work of everyone who helped is so greatly appreciated. Each month, birthdays seem to get more and more abundant. Wishing a very happy birthday to the following members: Julie Schill, Jacob Wells, Alex Struble, Richard Petrotte, Branch Officer Aaron Arthur, Crystal Pierucci, Kurt Huefner, Claire Detrie, Carl Hepler, Laura Beichner, Ryan Hartle, John Kuzilla, Edward Steiner, Carl Beckwith, Christopher Black, Harold Seitz, Paul Denslinger, Irene Schaeffer, Joseph Groner and last, but certainly not least, Edward Dechant with a Halloween birthday. I hope your birthday is a perfect start for a whole new year. If you have questions regarding our tax-deferred annuities or any of your life insurance needs, please do not hesitate to call me at any time. I am here to help you and your family, and I am just a phone call away. I can be reached at 412-821-1837, or you can send me an email message at noreenbunny.fritz@verizon.net. Don't forget: our branch meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, Main Street, Clarion. We welcome all members, their families and friends. Branch 8121 St. Marys, PA by Margaret Marconi Our branch held a regular business meeting on Sept. 3. Many of our members are in nursing homes, and we will send get well cards and personal notes to them each month. We audited our financial records and all is in order. After the business portion of the meeting, our members gathered for a nice lunch and social. God bless you all. May you all enjoy the fall season. Wiliiu Pen Life, October 2003 19
