The Minutes NATIONAL BOWLING TOURNAMENTS; NATIONAL GOLF TOURNAMENTS; ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP PICNIC; UTILIZATION OF PENN SCENIC VIEW AS A SPORTS, YOUTH AND MEMBERSHIP ACTIVITY CENTER; SUPPORTING OR SPONSORING PUBLICATION OF HUNGARIAN BOOKS FOR EASIER LEARNING OF THE HUNGARIAN LANGUAGE; SUPPORTING BOY AND GIRL SCOUT ACTIVITIES; CONTINUING TO HAVE THE HUNGARIAN LANGUAGE TAUGHT EITHER IN OUR BRANCHES OR IN AREA SCHOOLS OR BY FINANCIALLY SUPPORTING SIMILARLY OPERATED CLASSES; CONTINUING PUBLICATION OF THE WILLIAM PENN LIFE; FINANCIAL SUPPORT OF HUNGARIAN PARISHES OR CONGREGATIONS OF WHATEVER RELIGIOUS DENOMINATION, ESPECIALLY THOSE WHERE SERVICES ARE CARRIED ON IN THE HUNGARIAN LANGUAGE; SPONSORING TOURS TO HUNGARY AND TO OTHER COUNTRIES TO ACCOMMODATE OUR MANY FACETED MEMBERSHIP; FINANCIAL SUPPORT OF THE AMERICAN HUNGARIAN FOUNDATION HERITAGE CENTER AND MUSEUM; ESTABLISHING THE AMERICAN HUNGARIAN FOUNDATION HERITAGE CENTER AS THE REPOSITORY FOR THE HISTORICAL RECORDS OF THE WILLIAM PENN ASSOCIATION AND CONTINUING TO SPONSOR BRANCH FAMILY CHRISTMAS PARTIES AS A FRATERNAL ACTIVITY. 73. Resolution/ Adopted. MOVED BY DIRECTOR CHARLES S. JOHNS, SECONDED BY NATIONAL AUDITING COMMITTEE MEMBER JOSEPH HAMARI AND THE CONVENTION DELEGATES UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION: THE 35TM GENERAL CONVENTION IN REGULAR SESSION RESOLVES THAT MEMBERS OF ALL COMMITTEES: NOMINATING, CREDENTIALS, ELECTION/TELLER, RESOLUTIONS, AND SERGEANT-AT-ARMS, RECEIVE AN HONORARIUM OF $250.00 EACH FOR THEIR SERVICES AT THE CONVENTION. 74. William Penn Fraternal Association Scholarship Foundation/Officers/Introduced. Convention Chairman Stephen J. Varga introduced the Officers of the William Penn Fraternal Association Scholarship Foundation, Inc. George S. Charles, Jr., President Richard W. Toth, Secretary Diane M. Torma, Treasurer 75. William Penn Fraternal Association Scholarship Foundatiom/Donation. National President George S. Charles, Jr., stated that donation envelopes have been distributed to every table on the convention floor. He requested everyone to look into your heart and make a sincere donation to the William Penn Fraternal Association Scholarship Foundation. The Scholarship Foundation is one of the largest fraternal activities of our Association and our youth deserves our most serious consideration. 76. William Penn Fraternal Association Scholarship Foundation/ Donations/Collected. National President George S. Charles, Jr. announced that all donation envelopes were collected. The donors name and amounts were announced. The grand total donated amounted to $21,000.00. This was the largest fund raising effort received for the benefit of the William Penn Fraternal Association Scholarship Foundation and President Charles thanked everyone for their kind generosity. 77. American Hungarian Foundation/Professor Gus Molnár. Professor Gus Molnár, President of the American Hungarian Foundation informed the delegates that the American Hungarian Foundation will be celebrating their 50th Anniversary in 2005. He stated this will be a year long celebration taking place in various cities in the United States and Hungary. The city of New Brunswick, NJ and the city of Debreczen, Hungary are sister cities and both cities will be involved. He requested the William Penn Association and all its members to plan and become involved in this momentous anniversary celebration. 78. Chairman Varga/ Agenda/Completed. Chairman Stephen J. Varga stated work on the Agenda has been completed and called on Rev. Joseph Bodnar, Pastor of the Bayard Street Presbyterian Church in New Brunswick, NJ for the Benediction. Following the Benediction the assembly closed singing "God Bless America". 79. Convention/Adjourned/ Adopted. IT WAS MOVED, SECONDED AND ADOPTED THAT THE 35TM GENERAL CONVENTION BE ADJOURNED. 80.
