A Happy and Healthy New Year to all! Branch 590 Cape Coral, FL by Joan Mauerman Branch 590 held its Christmas party and election of officers Dec. 1 at the Broadway Palm dinner theater in Fort Myers. The play was an adaption of the movie "Miracle on 34th Street." My favorite actor was Richard D. Westlake, who played the judge. He would make a perfect wizard in "The Wizard of Oz." The food was delicious, and everyone enjoyed the play. Prior to the play, we held a meeting to elect our officers for 2003. By unanimous votes, the following officers were elected: Mike Tomcsak, president; Rose Darab, vice president; Joan Mauerman, secretary-treasurer; and Jodi Dues and Irene Slauterbeck, auditors. Door prize winners were Helen Toth, Jodi Dues, Anthony Di Guilio and Margaret Menner. Half-and-half winners were Nelie Carley and Robert Menner. We were happy to see Donna Ranger, Richard Galambos, Corrine Metzger and Yolan Mickel. Get well wishes go out to Elizabeth Posey, Mary Mekler and Eleanor Di Guilio. We missed you at the party. We had a sing-along and Kalman Nagy did a solo rendition of "Silent Night" in Hungarian. He was given a standing ovation. We would like to thank the Home Office for the calendars and goodie bags which we handed out to our members. Happy birthday to Caitlyn Damon, Joseph Mekler, Irene Slauterbeck and Carrie Damon. Congratulations and best wishes to Debbie and Tim Meehan on their wedding anniversary. If you have any news to share, please call me. For all your life insurance and annuity needs, please call Mike Tomcsak at 863-858-8071. Branch 800 Altoona, PA by Vincent Frank Has your new year of 2003 started out with good health?
