The Hungarian Kitchen with Főszakács Béla Treats for special May days FÁRAD JÓN BE MAGYAR KONYHA. I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful Easter and ate a lot of food. Well, we have changed the clocks to give us more time to enjoy the longer days coming. As I write this column I can think of many things to do with those longer days and, yes, all have food involved with them. Ah, the joyous month of May. We have some important things that happen in Május. May Day is first where we celebrate the beginning of the month with Maypole. Májusfakeszitesl Remember grade school where we all cut the ribbons for the Maypole and had a parade in the schoolyard. It brings back some nice memories for me. We had the parade in the morning and after that it was usually time to go home for lunch that grandma prepared. Next, and the most important, is Mother's Day. It's the one day we can really give mom the royal treatment. While I have many recipes you can make for Mother's Day, the best thing you can make is.. .reservations! So take mom out to her favorite étterem and have a great meal. I have enclosed my favorite recipe for dessert that I make on Mother's Day that everyone enjoys. It's the perfect ending to a special day. Finally everyone's favorite: Memorial Day! Parades, warm weather and green grass mark the official start of nyár. Palántázás, túrázás, horgászás és piknikezes are many things to enjoy this month. Since we shed the winter clothes for lighter attire, I have a recipe that can help you feel great as well as lose a few unwanted pounds leftover from the winter. While I could write about all the food we could enjoy, Chef Vilmos reminded me that it's important to keep contact with the loyal readers who supported his column. Keeping that in mind, I will ask you the readers to send me any questions, recipes or food you would like to learn more about. I'm sure there are many things you'd like to know about food and everything connected with food. In fact we can cover everything from shopping at the supermarket to selecting zöldségek at the zöldséges and everything in between. Let me know and I'll dig up all the information, giving us more knowledge to enjoy and appreciate the foods of our heritage. Mára elég! See you next month. Jó fatypat fjgzcJíáos Snowball This makes the perfect cool dessert, very enjoyable after a Mother’s Day meal. All canned products are normal supermarket size for a family. Makes enough for 8.
