some old friends. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves at the tournament and, of course, congratulations to the winners and to all who took part in the weekend of fraternal activities. If anyone had a chance to walk around the town of Indiana, they found that there was much to see. The Jimmy Stewart museum, Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) and the Town Hall (with its recently dedicated Indiana War Memorial Wall and the 911 plaque) just take your breath away. We are saddened by the death of Marianne Bashur, Branch 34 member and daughter of Ann Liptak. Marianne passed away on May 30. She was 59 years old. Marianne had been unable to leave her house due to a long illness, but she was very cheerful and friendly on the phone, no matter how she felt. She faithfully baked cookies every year for the branch's children and adult Christmas parties, and any other time when needed. We will miss you, Marianne. Please keep Ann and her family in your prayers. Please keep in your prayers our branch members recuperating from surgery: Branch Secretary Terry Varas, Bill Mayor and Marge Bugielski. We hope you all have a speedy recovery. Birthday wishes for the month of July go out to Marie Cutler, Mate Fischer, Paul Goettler, Yvonne Mayor, Geza Nemeth, Brandon North, Frank Petohazi, Janet Primm, Michael Stefan, Stephen Spence, Andy McNelis III and last, but not the least, happy fifth birthday to my grandson, Donovan McNelis. Branch members celebrating their birthdays during the month of August are Amy Marie Bella, Joe Berei, Brian Colleran, Caroline Colleran, Margaret Király and Margaret Stefan. May your birthdays be many and full of happiness. If you have any news you would like to share, please contact Andy McNelis at 412-421-6031. Branch 129 Columbus, OH by Árpád Sibrik Congratulations to all of our branch members who attended the WPA Annual Golf Tournament in Indiana, Pa. John Horvath had the low gross score and the longest drive for seniors, while Dolores Horvath had the lowest net score and longest drive for the ladies. Our own Bill Ward won a set of Taylor Made golf clubs and bag during the annual auction raffle. Bill will probably shave three strokes off his handicap. Congratulations, Bill. I'm sorry I couldn't attend because of my health. On July 13 the Hungarian Cultural Club held its picnic at the Germania Clubhouse. The picnic was very well attended and featured lots of good Hungarian food and pastries. On July 20, the Germania Club sponsored its second annual Euro Day. Groups participating in this event included the Plungarian Cultural Club, Irish Shamrock Club, Polish Folk Dancers, Scandanavian Club, Swiss Club, Germania Damenchor and Mannechor and Bill Antóniák Polka Players. There was lots of good food and many happy people. Our branch was hoping to get together with the Dayton branch to jointly sponsor a bus trip to the WPA Picnic at Penn Scenic View. But, final arrangements have not been made yet. If anyone is interested in traveling with us to the picnic, please call Margaret Leonardo at 614-444-0035 as soon as possible. Our condolences go to the Nyeste family on the recent death of Mrs. Nyeste's father in Romania. Mary Ann Hinebaugh underwent knee surgery and is doing very well. We wish her a complete recovery.
