Branch 129 Columbus, OH by Arpad Sibrik We hope our Branch 129 bowlers had a good time at the recent bowling tournament...and brought home some prize money! Our local Hungarian church had a delicious chicken paprikas dinner after a combined worship service on May 19. We hope all who attended enjoyed themselves. Our condolences to A1 Bartf ay whose brother passed away recently in New Orleans. Helen Blair was recently hospitalized, and we hope she will be well soon. Dr. and Mrs. John Schill's granddaughter will be getting married this summer. Our best wishes to the young couple. Marge Boso is working with members from Dayton in the hopes of arranging a joint bus trip to the WPA picnic at Penn Scenic View Sept. 14. Our nation's flag should be treated with the utmost care and respect. Our flag stands for all that we hold dear, especially freedom and democracy. Join Hands Day will be held on June 15. It's a time for adults, youths and their neighbors to get together and volunteer to help others. Happy Father's Day to all fathers on June 16. May all fathers enjoy this special day. Only one member, William Haberstroh, was able to attend the May branch meeting at which time we honored these members. Those unable to attend will receive a pin and certificate by mail. A buffet luncheon followed the meeting. Mr. Haberstroh, a former district attorney for Blair County, made some brief remarks in which he expressed his admiration for the branch's faithful members who have continued to meet and hold activities for many years. Our other honorees were James E. Bender, Stephen P. Evans, John F. Gallagher, Dennis Haberstroh, Thomas Haberstroh, Vincent Haberstroh, Francis Kapfhammer and Paul J. Stubler. The American Flag will celebrate by Margaret Marconi Our members decided to have our branch make donations to the WPA's scholarship fund and the Operation Christmas Child campaign during our branch meeting held May 1. Several of our branch officers were ill and missed the meeting. We missed them and send them get well wishes. Father Alfred stopped by to say hello. He couldn't stay long as he was on his way to a "Life Teen" meeting. One of his many jobs is working with teens. May you all have a great summer. Branch 8321 Windber, PA by Edward T. Surkosky Our branch was saddened by the recent deaths of Flora Yocca and William Lombardi. May they rest in peace.
