For all who took part, it was a memorable day. The branch once again voted to provide food and baskets and gift certificates to those in need. So, on April 10, Ann Horvath and Helen Pécsi spent the day buying food and filling and delivering seven food baskets. Branch 296 Springdale, PA by Diane M. Torma Hope everyone had a blessed Easter. Members of Branch 296 are now looking forward to the upcoming bowling tournament in Toledo. We once again decided to sponsor a lane for $25, which will benefit the WPFA Scholarship Foundation. Speaking of the Scholarship Foundation, we remind students that the deadline for scholarship applications is May 31. Our branch was pleased to welcome Helen Gosciejew back to our meetings following a long illness. It was wonderful to have you back with us, Helen. Many thanks to Nick Koricich for your donations to Operation Christmas Child and the Scholarship Foundation. You are very thoughtful and generous. We were sorry to hear about all you have gone through in past months. Hope you don't have anymore "bad hair days." Glad you are feeling much better-Bo must be taking good care of you. Welcome new member Delaney Mazur, who is the great niece of Ron Balia. We hope to see you at WPA fraternal events. Happy May birthday wishes to George Charles, Jim Charles, Frank Fritz and all our members celebrating their special day. May your day be filled with all that you love. Get well thoughts and prayers go out to Mickey Wislie and Joe Wislie. May you return to good health soon. Branch 296 is planning to celebrate the WPA's 115th anniversary this year in conjunction with our annual bacon roast. Details on this special day will appear in future articles. We were delighted to welcome Endre Csornán, the WPA's new membership activities coordinator, to our April meeting. Endre shared information with our members regarding upcoming fraternal activities, including a picnic at Penn Scenic View Sept. 15. Our members are anxious to attend this day of fraternalism. Thank you, Endre, for your ideas and offers to assist us. We appreciate your attendance and insight. For your life insurance and annuity needs, call Noreen Fritz at (412) 821-1837.
