"Life insurance is basic to a strong society-helping millions accomplish together what only a few accomplish alone." Life insurance, fraternal service and our new ‘Insurance Store’ by George 5. Charles, Jr., FIC The William Penn Association has maintained an opportunity for its members to protect their families since its founding in 1886. Today, in our 114th year of service to our membership, we have renewed our commitment in protecting your entire family and loved ones through life insurance and annuities. Our Association has constantly strived to provide the most protection at the least expense to our members. Life insurance is the foundation of security, and our Association's concern is for the great majority of people who do need protection against the economic losses of death. Our Association believes in and supports our youth, the family unit, our heritage and economic security for all. Life insurance is basic to a strong societyhelping millions accomplish together what only a few accomplish alone. Members active in our branches nationwide support one another within our fraternal family. Our dedication to fraternal principles brings us together and provides a necessary division of labor to spark increased interest and growth for us as an organization. I certainly am proud of the many fraternal efforts offered by our members who truly extend their efforts throughout the year in the spirit in which it was intended. Our National Directors and Officers have been planning more fraternal events affordable to our members to achieve greater attendance and participation. The William Penn Fraternal Association Scholarship Foundation, Inc., will hold its annual meeting on Friday, May 26, in Cleveland, Ohio. Over the years, our Association has given financial assistance to many of our young members who have gone on to excel in a variety of professions. We are proud to report that our Scholarship Foundation has an outstanding record of providing strong financial support, thanks to our members, in the form of scholarship grants. So, again, we ask our members and branches to join us in supporting our Scholarship Foundation. If you can not attend our annual meeting of the Scholarship Foundation on May 26 but would like to make a donation, please make your donation payable to " WPFA Scholarship Foundation" and send it to the Home Office as soon as possible so that it may be reported at our annual meeting. All contributions, no matter the amount, will be greatly appreciated. Our 57th Annual Bowling Tournament also will be held in Cleveland May 26 to 28. Plans have been made to make this a very memorable event. During the weekend festivities we will be introducing the " WPA Insurance Store." Our Association realizes that, from time to time, it is necessary to re-examine what life insurance is and why all of us should know its many benefits. All life insurance policies agree to pay a specified amount of money when you die, but all policies are not the same. Some provide permanent protection while others provide temporary protection. Some policies build up cash values while others do not. Some policies combine different kinds of insurance. Your choice should be based on your needs and what you can afford. The WPA Insurance Store will be located in the Hilton Cleveland South, 6200 Quarry Lane, Rockside Road at 1-77, Cleveland, Ohio. It will be opened on Friday, May 26 and Saturday, May 27. More details will be available at the bowlers registration desk at the hotel on Friday, May 26. Or, you can call us at the Home Office toll-free at 1-800-848-7366 Ext. 121. Please take the time to check it out. Hope to see many members during our bowling tournament weekend. Willi» Pen Lite, May 2000
