members, my great-grandsons Connor Damon of Dormont, Pa., and Austin Damon of West Chester, Ohio. The women of the Safety Harbor Hungarian Club should be complimented on keeping their heritage alive. They meet every Tuesday and raise money for their church. The Venice Hungarian Christian Club held a dinner-dance recently. Club president Kalman Magyar is a member of the WPA. Bishop Zoltán Király holds services there twice a month. The Plant City Club held their Grape Harvest Festival in November. Louis Dobos was the town crier. A1 Wansa was the photographer, and Olga was one of the hostesses. Hurka and kolbász were served. The club meets the second Sunday of each month. Debra Hall, granddaughter of Bob Menner of Port Charlotte, will graduate this year from Virginia Tech. Congratulations, Debra. Happy birthday to Rose Darab, Tony DiGiulio, Vi Shinski, Irene Franko, Sara Lesko, Mike Tomcsak, Joan Mauerman, Timmy Meehan and Helen Toth. Wedding anniversary congratulations to Pam and Dave Damon. Twenty-eight branch members attended the Broadway Palm Dinner Theater production of "Christmas through the Century" on Nov. 25. The segment featuring the year 1968 and "Laugh-In" seemed to be a favorite. Everyone left the theater with a smile on their face and a song in their heart. A brief meeting was held prior to the show and door prize winners were Nellie Carley, Eleanor Di Giulio and Corinne Metzger. Half-and-half winners were Joanne Benedetto and Nellie Carley. Marge Hamari was a special guest. She was visiting her mother, Helen Toth. They celebrated Thanksgiving together and Helen was honored by the cast of the show on her 87th birthday (which was actually on Nov. 25). Our election meeting will be held Dec. 9 in Egret Hall in Cape Coral. Congratulations to Jodi Dues who was inducted into the National Honor Society at the University of Southern Florida, Tampa. Wishing a blessed holiday season to all our members and friends. For your life insurance needs, call Mike Tomcsak at (863) 858-8071. Branch 800 Altoona, PA By Vincent Frank Merry Christmas to all members and your families from your branch officers. Christmas is a day to exchange gifts with your loved ones. It is a day of excitement for children. It is a day of joy and happiness for everyone as we celebrate the birth of our savior. May God bless your Christmas. During this beautiful holiday season, the branch turns its thoughts and prayers to those members who are ill, whether in hospitals, nursing homes or their own home. May our prayers help them have a speedy recovery for their illnesses and a return to a lifestyle of good health. A special blessed Christmas wish goes out to each of them from your branch officers. The branch will be taking part in the WPA Holiday Basket program again this year. This charitable effort brightens up the Christmas season just a little more for the poor. It is a good example of fraternalism at work. The branch's deceased brother and sister members were remembered at the annual memorial Mass held on Thanksgiving morning at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Altoona. The Rev. Dennis M. Kurdziel was the celebrant. Food items brought to the Mass were to be given to the needy. We thank all of you who took part in this event. The WPA has good, reasonablypriced fraternal life insurance available. Do you or any member of your family need life insurance? We offer many plans from which you can choose. Call Bob Jones at (814) 942- 2661 to learn more. Very soon we will be saying goodbye to the year 2000, and ushering in the new millennium which begins Jan. 1, 2001. Happy New Year to all!
