:or Starten WPA salutes efforts of top sales reps ~ PITTSBURGH - The Home Office recently announced the winners of the WPA's 1999 Sales Contest. Forty sales representatives were recognized for their efforts and achievements. We offer our entire sales force our thanks and appreciation for their dedicated service to our Association and its members during the past year. Our sales representatives are vital to our success. Without their efforts to recruit new members, our Association could not continue to grow nor sponsor the many fraternal, social, charitable and cultural programs our members enjoy. Their dedication, loyalty and efforts on our behalf are greatly appreciated. All that we have accomplished could not have been achieved without their help. We join the Board of Directors, National Officers and Home Office staff in congratulating and thanking our entire sales force for services they have rendered to build the WPA into an outstanding fraternal organization. The boom in the use of fax machines, the internet and cellular phones is creating thousands of new phone numbers and a subsequent need for more area codes. If you have recently been assigned a new area code, please forward it to our Home Office so we can update your file. If you don't tell us, who will? • Guaranteed Issue Program. We know a good idea when it smacks us in the head. The success of last year's Guaranteed Issue Program convinced us to offer it again. Now, current adult life-benefit members up to age 80 can purchase additional life insurance from us—without a medical exam or evidence of insurability-until June 30, 2000. For coverage limits and other eligibility information, contact your local WPA sales representative or the Home Office at 1-800-848-7366, extension 121. • Hungary Tour 2000. Travel to Hungary with the WPA this year. We're sponsoring two great tours: one in June and another in September. For complete information, call Fugazy International Travel toll-free at 1-800- 828-4488. NFCA plans day of service focused on nation’s youth Fraternalists across America will participate in a new national day of volunteer service designed to address the serious problems affecting our nation’s youth and their communities. The day, to be held June 17, is being sponsored by the National Fraternal Congress of America and its more than 90 member fraternal benefit societies, including the WPA. NFCA President David J. Larson said this exciting new initiative will allow fraternalists “to let our light shine in a very significant way.” The NFCA will announce detailed plans for the day soon. The day of service will focus on youth-recognizing problems faced by our youth, taking initial steps toward solving those problems, and involving youth in every step of the process. It will provide an opportunity for youth and adultsboth fraternalists and members of the community-at-large-to work together to affect real change. The NFCA is developing the day with the support of The Points of Light Foundation. The day would join a list of five national days of service currently recognized by the Foundation-Martin Luther King Jr. Day (January), National Youth Service Day (April), The Big Help Campaign (April), Make A Difference Day (October) and National Family Volunteering Day (November). While focused on youth, the NFCA hopes the day will bring wider recognition to the fraternal benefit system and the positive influence fraternal societies have on youth. In short, a win-win situation for all involved. Williaa Poll Life, February 2000 3
