The season of Thanksgiving is just around the corner. It's the time of year we pause and reflect on friends and family. I Happy Thanksgiving to all and give praise and glory to the Holy One. "Let everything that has breath praise the Lord." (Psalm 150:6) Member Joe Smith recently was in the hospital for a hip replacement. Then he fell and was in rehabilitation. He is home now. The good news is he attended the October branch meeting without his cane. Great news, Joe. Irene and Frank Schaeffer were involved in a car accident. Irene was in the hospital and is now recuperating at home. Their dog Mitzi was injured so badly in the accident that she had to be put to sleep. My deepest sympathy goes out to Irene and Frank. I visited their home many times and Mitzi was always the center of attention. She was their "baby." Happy birthday greetings to members Ralph Judy, Bernard Carroll, Francis Bauer, Richard Keenen, George Niederriter, Harry Lambing, Stephen Zacherl, Brian Seitz, Bernard Gatesman, Elsie Hanoid, Matthew Hurst, David Ragley, Ruby Summerville, James Distler and William Reinsel. Best wishes on your special day. Mark your calendars! The Branch 8114 Christmas party will be held Dec. 19. Happy hour starts at 6:00 p.m. and dinner is at 6:30 p.m. The party will be at the Immaculate Conception Church hall, Main Street. Branch 8121 St. Marys, PA By Margaret Marconi Our branch held its October meeting at St. Marys Parochial School annex. We signed birthday and get well cards, and set dates for special Masses and parties for 2001. We won't meet in January, February or March, so we had to make plans for next year early. Our branch made a donation to the Christian Education Fund. After closing our meeting with a prayer, our members enjoyed a nice social. Billiam Prni Life, November 2000 19
