Branch 18 members gather around the crucifix at Holy Cross Hungarian Catholic Church after Mass on Aug. 14. The crucifix was renovated with funds provided by the branch and the WPA Home Office. f Branch 14 'Y Cleveland, OH J by Karen Congem Many of our Branch 14 members enjoyed the 16th Annual Golf Tournament. This delightful occasion brought many members together from different branches. Our trip to the Carousel Dinner Theater to see the production "Holiday Extravaganza" has been rescheduled for Nov. 19. Dinner begins at 6:00 p.m. We are still looking for members interested in joining the "Kings and Queens" bowling league. This mixed couples league meets on Sundays at 4:00 p.m. Any members interested in either the dinner theater trip or the bowling league should contact Carol Perkins at (440) 238-6465. Frank Evans III, son of Frank and Cindy Evans, recently traveled to Las Vegas and hopes to come home a winner. We hope he had good luck. Irene Evans and Branch 14 Vice President Ernest Raymond attended the convention and reunion of the 8th Armored Division Association of World War II, held the week of July 4 in Louisville, Ky. They toured the city of Louisville, Church Hill Downs and the Paten Museum in Fort Knox, Ky. Ernie said: "It was the best ever." Get well wishes go to Rose Kaul. We hope you're feeling better. Special get well wishes go to my grandmother, Caroline Dagostino. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Hope your surgery went well. We love you, Grandma. Our next Branch 14 meeting will be held on Thursday, Sept. 9, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the VFW Hall, 3483 Rockside Road, Independence. All members our welcome. We also would like to thank all those who joined us for Branch 14 Day at Geauga Lake Amusement Park. We hope everyone had an enjoyable time. Branch 18 ^ Lincoln Park, Ml J by Barbara A. Our Atlantic City trip has been cancelled. Since the opening of our local casino, Atlantic City has cancelled all flights from Detroit. At our last membership meeting a motion was made and passed to again spend a night in Mount Pleasant at the Soaring Eagle. Those who went last time thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
