(ranch News. Fifth generation A special welcome to Cory (right) and Luke Grahl of Branch 14 Cleveland. The boys represent the fifth generation of their family to be members of the WPA. both have many more years to celebrate. By this time next month, the golf tournament will be a wonderful memory. Hope all of you have all your teams in. Looking forward to seeing all of you. It seems that at every WPA function we meet more wonderful people. WPA members are the very best. Very special anniversary wishes to Irene and Rudy Korpák. Hope you have many more. We also wish a happy 58th anniversary to Steve and Mary Varga. We hope you enjoy many more. Mark your calendars for these upcoming events: • The Hungarian American Cultural Center is having a "Gypsy Picnic" on Aug. 8. • The HACC will hold its annual pig roast on Sept. 11 and 12. • Holy Cross Hungarian Catholic Church will host a St. Stephen's Day dinner on Aug. 22. For more information on any of these events, please call me at (313) 383-4472. Our branch is sponsoring a trip to Atlantic City, leaving Nov. 1 and returning Nov. 2. The first 30 members to send their $50 deposit will be able to attend. The remainder of the cost will be paid by the branch. Deadline is Sept. 1. Send your $50 to me at 1471 London Ave., Lincoln Park, MI 48146. Our Branch 18 Mass at Holy Cross Church will be celebrated at 4:00 p.m. Aug. 14. Members and nonmembers of all faiths are welcome. We will have our picture taken at the cross which was renovated thanks to donations from our branch and the Home Office. Our next membership meeting will be held Aug. 13 at 7:00 p.m. at the Hungarian American Cultural Center. As always, you are most welcome. Looking forward to seeing a lot of our readers at these upcoming Hungarian gatherings: • July 25 (Sunday) - St. Stephen of Hungary Church summer picnic at the Youngstown American Hungarian Club, 2219 Donald Ave., 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. • Aug. 8 (Sunday) - The traditional Magyar Nap (Hungarian Day) sponsored by the Youngstown American Hungarian Federation, at the Hungarian Club on Donald Avenue. Joe Jeromes will be playing for your listening and dancing enjoyment. A menu of traditional Hungarian foods will be available from the kitchen. More information about the Hungarian Heritage Day to be held in September will be available next month. Details of the branch picnic held June 27 will be in the August edition of the William Penn Life. It was so nice to see and have time to chat with Joan Mauerman, visiting the Youngstown area from Florida, at Lena Hagg's graduation party. All members and guests are invited to attend this enjoyable fraternal affair. Our next regular branch meeting will be held on Thursday, Sept. 9. We would like to extend our condolences to the family of Sue Szalai who passed away in June.
