Page 8, William Penn Life, October 1997 Member Milestones Machis celebrate 64th anniversary Congratulations to Gabriel and Goldie Machi of Branch 525 Los Angeles who celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on Sept. 16. The former Goldie Domkos, who was born in Dante, Va., and Gabriel, bom in New Jersey, were married in 1933 in Madison, W.Va. They have been members of the WPA since 1930. Gabriel worked in the coal mines of West Virginia for 25 years. In 1943, the couple moved to Califor­nia and now reside in Monterey Park, Calif. Gabriel and Goldie like to spend their time working in their garden and traveling. They have 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Joseph and Anne Putz mark 60 years Anne Putz, a member of Branch 18 Lincoln Park, Mich., and her hus­band Joseph were honored at a 60th wedding anniversary party held June 14 in Trenton, Mich. The couple’s children and their spouses-Shirley and Pat O’Neill and Joe and Llonda Putz, all of Trenton, Dorothy and Ray Lovász of Taylor, Mich., and Elayne Montie of Westland, Mich.— were hosts of the celebration. The former Anne Konkoly of McDonald, Pa., married Joseph Putz, a native of Csolnak, Hungary, on June 19,1937, at Holy Cross Hungarian Catholic Church in the Delray section of Detroit. Mr. Putz retired from his construction company, Joseph Putz Co., in 1985. He enjoys wood­working and crafts. Mrs. Putz, a homemaker, drove a school bus for the Trenton School District for five years. She likes to crochet and has made afghans for their 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, and three yet-to-be-bom. Nagys celebrate golden anniversary Steve and Anna Nagy, both members of Branch 18 Lincoln Park, Mich., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary July 5 with daylong activities that included family and friends. The Nagys began by repeating their vows at the Hungarian Reformed Church in Delray, where they were married in 1947. Afterward, they greeted guests in the church hall. Steve Nagy was bom in Vassar, Mich., and the former Anna Danko was bom in Detroit. They have two sons, Daniel of Woodhaven, Mich., and Steven of Phoenix, Ariz., three grandchildren and three great-grand­children. Mr. Nagy, who worked in building repair at the General Motors Fisher Body Plant, retired in 1988. His wife was a dental assistant in Lincoln Park. Mr. Nagy enjoys lending a helping hand to friends and family and gardening. Mrs. Nagy enjoys crafts and cooking -and baking. They both are active in church activities and like to travel.
